Well, it’s back. As funny, gory, and generally brilliant as always.
I think there’s a deep vein of misanthropy that runs through the show, but despite that I really enjoy it.
Despite?

I think that's why I like it. We're all s biggrin

Is it just me that gets completely lost from season to season. You could offer me £10k to give the vaguest of recaps on the end of season 2 and I couldn't do it, not a clue (even though I loved it).

Can't remember who died, survived, what the current situation is etc.
Same here. Just started this season and had no clue what went before it.
Same. Man of Recaps has it covered:

And another one here who can't recall very much. A quick look at the synopsis of previous episodes on the wiki page really helped -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boys_(TV_series)...

I'd forgotten so much about series 2!

There's so much good sci-fi around at the moment on TV but this is probably the best, not least because of the (very) dark humour and decent characterisation.

Up to date now. Really enjoying it again, its apparent that the effects budget has gone up a touch! I just hope they know when to stop, before everyone has shagged everyone else and it descends to EastEnders style soapery with copious gore.

Luckily, for the writers at least, I think it might be impossible to ‘jump the shark’ with this show. biggrin

It’s the best thing on TV.

This is brilliant as ever!

Watched all three in a day and now feel sad I've gorged all my smarties and have to wait to get some more.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Homelander, what a character and actor. There are so many subtle moments of genius, not to mention Butcher's choice of profanity.

One of my fav shows currently.

Indeed - I think I'd be a little scared of meeting Anthony Starr in real life - that can't all be acting.......

Someone said further back that he's been arrested for fighting, must've picked up some moves making Banshee.

This and the new Star Trek stand out in a sea of badly written and acted mediocrity.

Watched the 2nd episode yesterday and Homelander had me cringing and laughing at the same time at the end.

Caught up on Ep3 last night.

It was never what you'd call "light", but boy is it getting dark.

And full on from the first minutes of Ep1 and pace being maintained.

Everything about it is great - casting, production values etc. One of those shows you don't want to end. (Caveat being that you have to be up for anti-humour smile).

It's the little things like Homelander calling himself by his original name "The Homelander" when getting angry with someone (being deliberately vague as the thread seems spoiler free so far) that change it from a good show to a great show for me.

I've just had a Duurrrrr I am an idiot moment of realisation that Homelander is the guy from Banshee with his hair dyed blonde and a shave.

Two and a bit seasons without a single thought of that.

Good actor I think that means.

Caught up to Ep3, poor Timothy.

Every scene with Homelander is properly tense. Hard to watch. Butchers accent is all over the shop (still) and it feels like the writes have heard a bit of English slang but not really understood it. Somewhat distracting.

On a related note I just finished Peacemaker, miles better than the Suicide Squad films, genuinely warm, funny in places but with loads of swearing and graphic violence.
