The official PH Coronation Street thread (Vol 2)

Struggling to watch it these days, it's either plain daft or plain stupid as a storyline.
Gary and the skyscraper
Todd in the loft
Rubber nose and his 4 kids
Daft geezer wanting to rob people all the time with MS Jonny.
Tonight's highlight a big bald guy shouting at Tim for his husband...
What's happened to all the decent storylines like Phelan etc?
The exorcism was mildy funny as Mary plays a good part but it feels like the writers have now totally lost any coherant threads/plots.
Possibly need a break after many years enjoying the mix of humour and storyline.

Sadly I totally agree. I know it is "only a soap" but it is neither funny nor slightly believable anymore. It's like the writers get together and decide the most stupid story they can think of followed by employing some of the worst actors on TV. The quality actors must despair!!
Now that Mick has let Todd Mk2 off the hook, it looks like "Todd" will be hanging around the cobbles for a while, as he no longer has to be on the run. (More's the pity)
Nice to see Gary has won the contract to do the groundworks for the huge project on the other side of the street, despite having no experience whatsoever, other than being a owner of a rented junk shop and an ex loan shark. He submitted his plans and quote to Ray within 24hrs on a couple of sheets of A4 paper.
God, this stuff's rubbish, but strangely I can't bring myself to stop watching it.

Sue Cleaver talks about casting the new Todd.
"When we did the casting, we saw a few people for the chemistry part, to see how we all worked," she began. "It was just instant. The minute he got on the set, there was an essence of him that I knew I could relate to.
"There was the essence of Todd – the bad boy but with the very lovable and vulnerable side."
Cleaver continued: "He just hit the nail on the head and it was so easy. And since we've been working, it's just felt like we've been working together for ages. In our very first scene, we were having problems trying to keep a straight face.
"He's so good. He's such a subtle actor, with great nuances, and he's just a really, really good performer. He's just slotted in perfectly."

That says a lot about why Corrie is so crap now. Next we will have a critique stating how excellent the writers are! "They are always spot on with their writing and the stories are so credible. Its amazing how well they all gel together to produce such fantastic storylines"Sue Cleaver talks about casting the new Todd.

I wish Leanne would keep her mouth shut, this constant aggression against all things medical is beginning to get tiresome. No, correction, it has been tiresome for a while.
I passed on Corrie tonight for a break. Billions is on right now and shaping up for another great series. Corrie writers need a rethink and focus!

Sorry to say whenever Billy is on I fast forward, can’t stand him as a character or anything he’s involved with. I’d even put up with more Sean if they need to push the gay content but adding “Todd” back in just creates a creative black hole.
Wife doesnt watch any other soaps but are eastenders/emmerdale/others etc as bad as Corrie now the social distancing is so obviously in place ? It's not just the poor acting with wooden Todd it's the fact they are all stood like poles at the same time
