I agree regarding comments about Jacob, actually brings a little menace to the role, in particular the scene with Leanne. Unfortunately, as stated, Simon is poor in comparison.

I think the writers need a rethink on what they do, it's actually more obviously spoiling the storylines. People dropping like flies and not a hug or touch possible so avoid those scenes until you can do it right?
I don't watch other soaps so I've no idea how the rest are coping but surely it's not as bad as Corrie?

I will mention one thing , but it isn't the Street itself , but its new sponsor, Argos . They have a little clip which precedes each episode - notice anything odd about them ? Something didn't look right somehow - but then I got it. You see various people , but never see a face . Very little we see on telly is by accident , somebody has decided on the shot . My only guess is that it costs more for extras if you can recognise them . But no idea really .

The fact I am ruminating on this will tell you all you need to know about my current level of engagement with the ...err.. main attraction.
