The official PH Coronation Street thread (Vol 2)

True , but watching an eight hour wait might dull the narrative spark a tad .
And call me Mr Law and Order but isn't it a legal requirement to notify the police of every RTA * * involving personal injury ?

- My bad . Because , in the newspeak which the police so love to use, there are no longer any accidents - but 'collisions ' instead . A concept I struggle with in single vehicle incidents . As in - ' The driver of the motor vehicle , a white male , was involved in a collision involving a ploughed field . The highway will remain closed for the next 18 hours while we complete our investigations '.(Because even a minor shunt is treated as the crime of the century , unlike trivial stuff like theft and assault .)
Getting rather annoyed by the Daisy-Stalking storyline. It's very misleading to suggest that the Police would not take action in this clear-cut case and feel that it could really put people off reporting such cases. The Police Officer also joining in also just cheap and lazy writing. Corrie writers continuing with trying to squeeze in any social issues at every opportunity with trigger-warnings before each episode these days. Can't we just go back to some light-entertainment escapism please?
I loved Daniel's Philip Larkin lesson in the clink - the first poem they talked about was, of course , the infamous 'This be the verse' whose opening line reads 'They f***k you up your mum and dad '
No wonder Max was paying attention ..I also enjoyed Alya's scathing speech to the self pitying little squit
As for Daisy , I think it is an excellent , and very topical story line with the added spice(thanks to the Met ) of a pervy copper.

I accidentally came across a spoiler regarding the Daisy storyline and needless to say, if true, it doesn't seem like there is going to be a happy outcome Rh14n said:

Indeed. It's a hell of a stretch to believe they wouldn't consider Daisy's harasser guilty of any crime.https://www.police.uk/advice/advice-and-informatio...
The first sentence states 'Stalking and harassment is when someone repeatedly behaves in a way that makes you feel scared, distressed or threatened.
Is pretty clear really.

It's not as though the police have a bad reputation when it comes to dealing with women is it ? Our uniformed chum has probably already set up a WhatsApp group to perv over Daisy with his toxic mates .
Its the current style of scriptwriting. See an issue in the news, have it feature in 4 episodes, solve it and move on.Transplants, OCD, sinkholes, money, parking, climate change.

The problem is they don't usually solve it. It just gets forgotten. EG PC Plod,s OCD!Transplants, OCD, sinkholes, money, parking, climate change.
Summer and Maria are two who are as thick as mince for a week or two and then highly intelligent for a few.

Surely Carla could see a doctor, give bloods, and the result would show the prescence of the LSD? Or doesn't it show? No doubt PH company directors will have experience...............

LSD readily detectable. Lasts up to 12 hours in blood, 2 to 4 days in urine and months in hair.Surely Carla could see a doctor, give bloods, and the result would show the prescence of the LSD? Or doesn't it show? No doubt PH company directors will have experience...............
Urine test most commonly in routine workplace and police drug tests, LSD part of standard test.
Looks like Summer's "dad" Paul has been badly affected when Carla knocked him off Peter's new motorbike.
Regarding Maria's brother Kirk, I wouldn't mind a job like his, appearing for ten seconds every episode, saying a couple of lines acting like the street idiot.
I don't think he's ever once been in a meaty storyline, as an actor I would be very frustrated by that.
No reflection on Adam Sutherland, it's not his fault.
