Oooo. Guilty pleasure of mine.

Going to miss the Star Wars stuff though, the 4k release on disk is just too much tempt. The cost sounds high but it is not that bad considering the extra's.

I'm waiting until Christmas - they will want to such the cash cow a little more and we'll be getting longer cut versions and theatrically restored 4K cuts of the originals....please...please let this be true!

they are not extended cuts of the new movies, nor theatrical non specialsed editions of the originals.

I wonder if Car SOS will end up on Disney+, it's not exactly core Disney, but it is a NatGeo programme.

Mis read you intention. I thin George is holding back and refusing Disney access to some stuff, did I read somewhere?

The original unfked editions? Since the Fox acquisition Disney own them all now.
Disney could start to make amends for their recent decisions by releasing the originals unfked, but cleaned up.

nice link - i've seen these already - it just shows how crap the DVDs were - a lot of correction still needed for the 4K, not just in colour/softness but also in all the additional errors of the "clean ups" and new scenes that were made..... by Lucasfilm themselves!

spielberg hit the nail on the head when he said he wasnt doing any more revists to his old films (after he did it with ET) - your simply messing with peoples memories and experience with the movie at the time.
the special editions now look like home based CGI rubbish - just give us cleaned up originals please Disney!

I wouldn't be so sure, Lucasfilm could quite easily have included a 'no original release' clause in the buy out, and it seems from the small change to the Greedo scene that George Lucas still has control over any changes.

That's impressive. I know the wait for Mandalorian was annoying but it's kinda understandable why they waited it out. Launching without Star Wars, Simpsons or many of the MCU films (for example) would have been a pretty soft launch. They've clearly waited for various deals to expire etc.

We even get X-Men stuff, which isn't available in the US yet I believe.

Not sure if the list is comprehensive, it is on the BT version as well.

Found this the other day but not sure of the provenance, bit like the Netflix what's on?
