Disney+ new streaming announced officially
Discussion
Evening folks.
I'm not a total luddite but I can't seem to sign up for Disney plus. I've created a disney account but when I try and start the 7 day free trial from my laptop I simply get the message that 'Disney plus is not available in your region'. I'm based in the UK and I know its available here. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
My web browser is google chrome and I'm running windows 10.
thanks in advance

It's pretty niche, no 'adult' stuff you are not going to get stuff like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones on D+. For people with limited media spend I think that unless you are a total Disney addict then other suppliers are better value but of course don't offer the Disney content.
I have a year of this but really have only watched the Mandalorian, some Star Wars and Marvel stuff, not watched more than an hour in the last month. Netflix are constantly putting new stuff up. What was the last new (original) thing on Disney? The kids are watching the Simpsons and sometimes older movies.
I doubt I will rebook another year, probably just go month to month when something new I want to see pops up.

HBO is launching soon, if not already. In the States that is.
As part of your D+ sub or a seperate entity?https://advanced-television.com/2020/05/27/hbo-max...

Simpsons now 4:3 where applicable. Need to go to "details" for the main page on the Simpsons and disable the 16:9 upgrade option.
Thank you! I've had D+ since Tuesday and watched a few things so far. Wife loves it, and I introduced my daughter to the original DuckTales this morning, she was ambivalent towards it.

If you have 4k and are a visual perfectionist (as far as streaming will go), it is throttled for the time being. I am staying off any 4k stuff for now. The difference between star wars 1977 and disk is huge at the moment. It would drive me up the wall, one or two "4k" animations are showing issues.I've had D+ since Tuesday and watched a few things so far. I subscribed around a month ago and paid for a full 12 month subscription, I'm planning on watching all the starwars films again in order, done 2 so far, the wife and kids are still enjoying having the Disney catalogue of films to watch during the weekends when there is little else to do and the youngest loves Disney Junior programs, all that said I suspect in 12 months i'll be cancelling therenewal when the novelty has worn off and the country is more settled and back to normal.
Anyone with the same itch as me on quality, Disney have opened the taps and 4k now looking good. Not had the chance yet to see a lot in 4k as it was throttled almost from the start and certainly seeing improvements on the vision, I wasn't going to watch anything on a throttled service in 4k.
