I watched 4 episodes last night and really enjoyed it. Then again,I was brought up not far from Bacup! Maybe it's northern thing?

I thought Joseph Gilgud was great in Emmerdale as Eli Dingle. He's Eli Dingle in this too, or is he just being Joseph Gilgud?

It's good fun though, I'll be watching the rest of the series anyway.

He's the same as Cassidy, the vampire, in Preacher.

Saw Ep 3 this evening and tbh, I don't think I even smiled once, all a bit contrived, predictable and not at all what I would consider "funny".

Maybe the first two were better, but I cant see me sticking with it!

Just getting round to this. Brilliant telly and some proper wtf moments followed by tears of laughter. The GP is spot on.

Finished the series and I quite liked it, some scenes and dialogue lifted straight from the Guy Ritchie script book but all in all not bad, calling the local 'Mr Big; Terrance McCann though... hehe

For me, this series definitely improved as it went on and as the characters and their relationships developed. The balance between humour and drama worked pretty well.

I'll definitely be watching season 2

My wife thinks I'm being an arse (and I am, probably), but 'brassic' should, IMO, actually be 'boracic'.
You’re right, it should be boracic, it was Cockney rhyming slang, boracic lint-skint, but everyone rolls it into brassic.
I didn’t see the show, but my wife watched five minutes, thinking it would be an Only Fools and Horses type thing.
She said, “It’s bad enough all that Northern tosh, Peaky Blinders, and Coronation Street, but when they nick our slang, then murder it in those accents, it’s too much.”

I thought brassic was a northern term, but after a quick check, it is, but for a different meaning.

You know I haven't even bothered watching Brassic because of exactly this so I didn't want to waste any of my time, and I'm pleased I did now.

I had a strong feeling that it would be contrived and 'try-hardy' too, which is a shame but it seems that that's the way comedy is these days. There are very few (if any) actually funny comedies being made these days.

Safe sells.

Well firstly, all the definitions are the same, expect the one which suggests it's a derivation of 'brass monkeys' (and is rubbish).

Mainly though, it's the bit that claims 'brassicus' is Latin for poor.
