The Apprentice 2019
Discussion
I am long past the point where I can watch the whole series of tasks followed by bickering, but I do usually enjoy the interview and final task.
However the quality of the business plans put forward last night were well beyond pitiful- Claude put it better.
I presume the BBC give Sugar the £250k to invest for his appearance fee, as I really cannot imagine him investing his own cash on any of those numpties.
As others have said, it is now fallen to a Love Island Vs Brig Brother level - it’s just another franchise whose time has well and truly passed.

Does anyone know at what point the YF segments get recorded? Is it immediately after each candidate is fired, or do they wait until the relevant task is aired?
I believe it's recorded after the episode is first shown privately for the audience the day before it airs on TV, so done on Tuesday.Evangelion said:

Lottie has only just been banned from appearing on YF and the guests were talking about her as if she wasn't there so I guess it's fairly recently. I'd be surprised if they wait until it's aired as that would make it a live show FourWheelDrift said:

I believe it's recorded after the episode is first shown privately for the audience the day before it airs on TV, so done on Tuesday. The YF audience sits there in the studio and the main show is played back to them on a bunch of TV screens. Then they record the YF show immediately afterwards, more or less in one smooth take doing the camera cuts as they go, unless the host fluffs his autocue lines and then they'll stop and redo it.
Takes about an hour to record the half hour show as they record a lot more stuff and then cut out the bits that the studio audience don't laugh at to get it back down to half an hour.
So easy enough to not include Lottie in it.
I'm surprised that people only just seem to be realizing that this show is effectively a Love island/Big Brother.IAACGMOOH clone.
It's been like that for several seasons, more so since the "prize" changed from an "Apprenticeship" to a £250k investment, but even before then the candidates were chosen more for their entertainment value than their business acumen, and that's what makes it so enjoyable.

This an entertainment show. The people are picked in the same way as any other tv show. To provide entertainment
Quite agree, a similar recipe nearly 40 years ago, Esther Rantzen was hosting the "Big Time" where random members of the public were chosen to be trained in a particular discipline and then promoted as much as possible. It was good to watch and, to be fair, Sheena Easton did pretty well as a singer and Tim Lee-Davey did a half decent job as a racing driver...

Anybody noticed the continuity went haywire tonight? Pamela got fired in a pink dress, wore a blue one to walk to the taxi, and had changed into a red one by the time she was sat in it.
I mentioned this to my wife, as she sat down to watch it, after recording it the night before. She called me in from the kitchen, where I was reading a paper, as “Apprentice” doesn’t interest me.
She’d paused the TV, then she wound it back, and pressed play.
Pamela was wearing pink when fired, she had a full length stone coloured coat on as she walked out, and I saw no glimpse of blue under it, she still had it on in the taxi, but the pink hem of her dress was just visible.
Last night's ep really was well hello X-Factor, just cringe. There isn't a single credible candidate among them, there's usually two or three. And the business plans were shocking. Tbf to baker girl she said she'd open three to five shops but got ambushed into saying thousands. It was a throw-away comment by her but got blown out of all proportion.
You're Fired is dead in the water, Tom Allen is absolutely appalling. I can see large numbers of people not bothering with any of the Apprentice next year if they decide to do another series, partly because of YF and partly because they've reached the bottom of the barrel candidate-wise.

It's so cringingly bad this year that I can't even be bothered to check out how much of my music the prog is using.
Is your music featured on the Apprentice? You never mention it.
..and BTW...also The Grand Tour, and Top Gear, and did I mention Masterchef?

I felt that they went quite lightly with Lottie during the interviews compared to the others. Maybe it was because the complete lack of figures had immediately shown her the exit so it wasn't worth grilling her any further.
The presentation of her plan without any figures showed her up for what she really was, little more than a child playing in an adults world.
.
I don't think she was ever on it to get the investment (presumably her family are loaded?). Probably just wanted to make a name for herself to become a media personality. The presentation of her plan without any figures showed her up for what she really was, little more than a child playing in an adults world.
