Terrible
Won't be watching any sequel.

I really have to stop falling for the trending thing on Netflix.

Watched this last night with low expectations, and I loved it, genuine laugh out loud moments too.

It was like an adult A Team where all the bullets actually hit the bad guys and they don't get out and rub their heads when a car/truck rolls (unless your a good guy, then, literally, that's what happens biggrin)

so many continuity issues - the green alfa lost its drivers door mirror when side swiped by the bin lorry....3 shots later it was back!
Far too much product placement - choppards watches (his and hers!), and lavazza coffee blatantly right at the end.

Great car chases though and some interesting CGI. Also how many people were killed in the making of this film!? Superb tail end swipes at pedestrians. Why didnt the pool spill over the edge of the tower block rather than inside flooding the lower floors???

Lots of sequels from this..

My advice - Don't ask too many questions about why something specific happens that affects continuity. Enjoy this for what it is - Brain out nonsense.

The next generation will include boat chases...

Last ten minutes appeared to be a Stone Island advert.

This film was very bad, and yet also very good! All that mattered was the action and the one liners - everything else was just filler.

Precisely what my hungover self needed on a wet Sunday afternoon!

That's just the tip of the iceberg as far as as product placement is concerned in this film! There was so much!!

I've done a hunt for reviews of this and while some slate it for being a Bay film, some laud it for being a Bay film - But mostly agree that, as it's a Bay film, you get what you expect

I have read a few reviews that are either pretentious or self righteous - almost saying that such a film shouldn't exist or some such.

But I'm sure we can all agree that there is plenty of room for brain out films - In fact we need them...

Yep, something for everyone. From Lavazza coffee, to watches and cars to super yachts! (Kismet is real and it’s available to charter if you have the pockets for it!).

To be fair to Netflix, at least here in Holland, they actually put up a notice as the film was starring that it contained product placement.

I loved it. Proper late 1980s action movie but with modern day production values.

No one else notice the bottle of Aviation Gin on the bar in the theatre? Ryan's own brand. He looks at it with a curious 'oh, what's this stuff'.

I very much enjoyed the first chase scene but it quickly became tiresome and by the end of the film I had completely switched off and couldn't tell you what had happened. I don't mind films that are action all the way through but that was so over stylised and brash it was exhausting. Sounding like a right miserable tt hehe

I thought it started slowly, but the second half of the film was a treat. I'd watch it again, but only to see Adria Arjona.

A bizarre film and disorienting right from the off, as Bay – as usual – turns every film-making knob available right up to ‘11’.

The civilian gas attack scene that was meant to be touching and underpin the reason for the whole mission was totally undermined by the otherwise cartoonish nature of the film.

I also think they should have spent a bit more cash on getting the ‘Deadpool’ screenwriter to sharpen-up some of Reynolds’ dialogue, as some of it didn’t quite work as well as intended. Reynolds at times looked as confused as I felt, but he still added class to proceedings.

That said, it was enjoyable in a forgettably rubbish way, with some great set pieces. That’s almost certainly as was intended, so it can’t really be faulted for that, and I would watch it again in a mindless moment.

Random Wikipedia ‘Fact’: Lior Raz, who played the villain, was in an Israeli counter-terrorism unit before a stint as a bodyguard for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
