I watched this with the OH last week and it is really good. I almost felt that the series downplayed what the actual flyers had to go through. In the book it really lets you know what the effects of constantly flying these missions did to the crews.
This related to bomber-command, csnt imagine that the figures would be any less horrific though

My grandfather served 3 tours with bomber command. God only knows how he made out of his 20’s.

Slow Horses S3 E5 got a bit silly with the machine guns etc.

Watched it last night and thought exactly the same.

I haven’t read the book it’s based on though yet so not sure how far the plots diverge….

its a bit silly to cover'up some wireless operation by..... killing an MI5 officer in Instanbul and sending 20x blokes to kill 3x MI5 officers and 2x civvies in the UK. I hope they make S4 a bit more believable

We watched all 6 last night too & I also agree about the machine guns too.

Still thoroughly enjoyable & superbly filmed & casted. There's another two series coming too.

Gary Oldman really is brilliant in this isn't he.

Thirded (or 4thed?) - it is good to see Colin Farrell actually act rather than just be angry.

So For All Mankind confirmed for a 5th series and - intriguingly - a spin off series Star City…

https://deadline.com/2024/04/for-all-mankind-renew...

If anyone’s just got one of those 3 month trials that are floating around they could do a lot worse than try Slow Horses, Blackbird and For All Mankind.

Really enjoying Palm Royale which I find pretty funny and have just started Lessons in Chemistry, which is very promising.
Thought they might be more for the wife, but they're both very good (although hearing the wife sigh every time Ricky Martin appears in Palm Royale is quite tedious!!)

3 month trial courtesy of Sky - already caught up with slow horses.

Finished Legacy - enjoyed a bit of Godzilla action.

Made the mistake of watching Argylle.

Not sure what’s next.

Severance
Bad sisters
Servant
Silo
Hijack

The latter two received more mixed reviews on here.

There's a lot of good stuff on Apple. A while ago I commented that it was more style than substance but I got it wrong. There's also not so much content that it's overwhelming.

Tbh, I don't watch too much TV anymore. I need a dose of the flu to catch up. (Hope not really! biggrin)
