I'm guessing you're Barry
If its the correct episode, being 1st up probably didn't help the nerves !
6 is actually a good score - it really depends what comes up
Good to hear you enjoyed it, not sure I would have the confidence to have a go
Overall, contestants have had a 1 in 4 chance of winning (recent bunch havn't been so good tho' - 1 in 7)
ps:
Does Mark really like to intimidate the contestants ?
(my mum really dislikes him !)
I am indeed! Going first DEFINITELY did not help. I knew all bar one of my questions yet managed to answer at least two wrong. If its the correct episode, being 1st up probably didn't help the nerves !

Not sure how true it is but Bradley told us he doesn't even know which chaser is going to come out before they appear. Mark was perfectly fine with me.
I got the same as you on your C/B Q's (sitting down comfy with mug of tea and ZERO pressure ) so well done !
Anyway, back OT
As mentioned above, he's quite a multi-talented guy
I think he's influenced by Norman Wisdom type stuff and he's pretty good with impressions of him
Did watch 1st episode of him & his son going across USA in an RV, but didn't continue watching
Liked his joke:
People laughed at me when I told them I was going to be a comedian
Well! they're not laughing now!
i've not seen this happen on TV, I assume it doesn't get aired, is this correct?

That's actually a Bob Monkhouse joke from about 30 years ago. People laughed at me when I told them I was going to be a comedian
Well! they're not laughing now!
He's appeared on Sunday Brunch a few times and is always good fun. This puerile nonsense a couple of years ago always makes me laugh:

What happens if the Chaser removes all the contestants and there's no need for a Final Chase?

No, what happens is the team come back and are given a notional £4Ki've not seen this happen on TV, I assume it doesn't get aired, is this correct?
The team then nominate a player (obviously the best!) to do the final chase.
For the pushbacks only the nominated contestant can answer (this was different in early Series)
It's happened at least 40+ occasions and occasionally have beaten the Chaser
If you think about it, you have a slightly higher chance of winning when all the team are knocked out than if 1 person gets through simply because that person may not be the best
Quite often we've had a hopeless contestant go low, get through and then find themselves on their own in the final chase
A case in point was a score of 3 in final chase....
One situation which hasn't occured yet AFAIK is:
IIRC, they allowed the 1st contestant who scored 0 in C/B to go for 0, they got through
What would have happened if the remaining contestants all got knocked out leaving the 1st contestant playing for £0 ?
This didn't happen, but it could have
Probably would have done the 'All knocked out' situation above
Just to add:
An interesting Chase 'statistic' is that 18 year olds have better Gen Knowledge (higher C/B scores) than 19 (and 20 somethings for that matter)
Not too difficult to work out why

I think the issue with "Cash Trapped" is that it's overly complex and to follow it you need to invest some time as it follows onto the following day, if no one "escapes"
In my opinion, the best quizzes are simple in structure andceach program can be viewed as a stand alone episode with a conclusion.
I like Bradley Walsh and enjoy everything he is in, even the series where him and his son toured the US in a RV. Some serious LOL moments.

I watched a filming of The Chase in April. It was a Christmas special, which meant a live audience (they only film celebrity episodes Infront of a live audience). BW was engaging with the slebs, the audience, the chasers, and none of it came across as false or forced. I think it is nigh on impossible to find something about him that you would dislike. Good egg.

Big fan of BW's and The Chase is comfortably the best TV quiz, IMO.
The other day I watched some quiz show about cases. Then yesterday something or other that was such tripe it was beyond belief. On that basis the Chase is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.Just tuned in for Cash Trapped. It's the same people that have been on since last week.
I notice one person was different and Googled. I see one person had decided to go home as she missed her kids too much.
That's a long time on the TV to walk away with nothing for 5 of the 6. Even then most prizes have been small amounts.
Mairead has the chance of getting out now with near £45k. She'll be gutted to go back to zero if she doesn't.

I would assume they can go on indefinitely if no one from the group manages to "escape"
Surely they can't? They have to draw the line somewhere. To beat 5 other players over 60 seconds is a hard task. You need to be lucky with the questions or far more knowledgeable than the rest.
They also need to stop the "tactical" button press. That's a few times someone has pushed the button to waste the last few seconds with no intention to answer.

Yes I think if the last person just pushes the button to waste time but does not answer or gives the wrong answer then the person escapes with the cash. Seems a bit rubbish and a get out of jail free card otherwise, just push the button then run down the clock.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
