I’ve been watching Gotham.

Somehow it’s passed me by but Covid isolation has led me to find something to watch and it’s proving very entertaining.

Not sure yet whether I like it or not coffee

Decent Mexican series about a tequila business that gets involved with drug cartels and the expected mess that comes with it, one of Netflix's better efforts.
Because no one has replied to this I thought I'd give it a bash. Someone is listening Rich. Don't give up on Us all.

I made the mistake of not checking the IMDb / RT of Capone, just thought “ooo Tom Hardy, he’s good, let’s watch this wife”.

Good lord. One of the most unwatchable films I’ve seen in a long time. Yes Hardy is pretty good but everything else about the film seems thin, pointless, uncomfortable and yet dull.
I checked it about 40 minutes in. At which point I realised it wasn't getting any better and turned it off.
+1

If Tom Hardy had taken the cigar out of his mouth occasionally to give me a chance to understand his mumbling I might have stuck with it a bit longer.
I watched the trailer and I could determine it looked awful. Thank the Lord I did so.
I saw Al Capone and Tom Hardy and thought it would be epic but then saw in the description that it was after he’s out of jail but missus wanted to watch at this point so too late. I lasted 15 mins, missus did another 20 and then threw the towel in laugh one of the worst things I’ve ever seen on Netters.

Do they just assume we are now scraping the bottom of the Netflix tub and will watch any old st?... That was dreadful.. think I gave it 15 mins. Like you all said - expected something altogether better!

Milla Jovovich. Dune meets Tremors with one scene nicked from Aliens. Killed an hour and 43 minutes I suppose.

3 or maybe 4/10

OPERATION FINALE.

The story of the abduction of Adolf Eichmann.

7/10. It would have been more, but it dragged in places.

The Debt - a so-so film about a group of Jewish nazi-hunters on a mission. Some thoughtful bits but pointlessly gory in at least one place and unevenly paced.

Rambo (4) - JR doing what JR does best. You know what you're getting here; not directly criticising the Burmese regime, I guess it doesn't need to (and we're back to another military dictatorship 12 years on frown )

Capone, yeh not worth watching IMHO. TH plays him well but the movie isn't worth watching.

would of been better if it had flash backs to his younger days etc

The Trial of the Chicago 7
Decided to give this a go based on the positive reviews on this thread and I was not disappointed, well worth a watch even if you haven't seen the previous 6 films smile

I was intrigued to see what could be a spoiler for a film in which nothing happens, but you're right. It would have needed flashbacks to give it a point.

Operation Finale.

Absolutely brilliant, Netflix made film telling true story of the capture of a nation war criminal in the 60's.

Ben Kingsley plays the lead, very well.

French with subtitles so not everyone's cup of tea, but it is very good.

We've started this. It's ... OK.

Plot lifted from 'Ugly Betty', but without the same quality of writing.

I lasted about 10 mins.

Remember how Taxi worked? Well this one just doesn't.

When I saw the trailer I assumed it was a spoof, but it turns out that junk was what they were actually serious in trying to make.

Decades past its sell by date and very very stinky.

Thanks for the recommendation Tim O, we really enjoyed Mango Dreams. A wonderful insight into some aspects of Indian life not normally seen.
