Finished Warrior Nun, thought it was pretty good overall, half decent story given the subject matter (supernatural/fantasy) and some good martial arts style action

It's Buffy for the 2020's
That's a good thing in my booktongue out
We've been big fans of Sabrina (if we're talking Buffy Reboots), how does it compare?
I don't get really a Buffy vibe from Warrior Nun, it just isn't structured that way.

Wynonna Earp on the other hand is pretty much a Buffy remake.

Well to be frank I don't remember Buffy's "monsters" being as bad a CGI job as Warrior Nun's...

well this is where I have to agree. The biggest single disappointment was the 'big bad' - as laughably poor as in Solomon Kane. I did like the whole thing though so am looking forward to S2

Watched Eurovision, the missus loved it, that’s all that counts.

The only thing i could mark them down for is at the end they did absolutely everything to avoid placing a union jack on the credits, almost as if it was an in-joke.

Me sensitive? not at all - barstewards.
It was the 3rd flag in the credits with Dan Stevens. laugh

Depression got the better of him, such a shame.I really enjoyed his travel/food series.
Such a tragedy. His TV shows are always very watchable.

His book, ‘Kitchen Confidential’, is also fantastic. Memorably commented on the hazards of eating fish on a Monday (even if he later back-tracked on that) and ordering meat well-done.
Enjoying this so far. As I get older I'm much more interested in this sort of travel/food hybrid type of documentary style of TV.
Shame the poor sod hung himself!!

Southern Survival

Its like Brainiac or The Gadget Show, but if you gave a load of money to some red necks to remake it.

Great so far.

7 mins of actual product/info and 28 mins of them doing the “look how southern and red-necky I am”.

Could have been good with less dicking about.

I think the strobe killing scene frazzled my brain. Who was the guy the 1st class lot got out of the drawer at the end?

I'm still watching it. At first I thought it was going to be the film stretched out as a series and making the main character a detective was part of that, but it's really only the initial setup, the frozen arm scene and the axe fight in the carriage that are from the film (so far), the rest of it and the characters are a very different setup. I'm liking it, no idea how the last two episodes will go, whether it has more parts of the film, or whether it's setup to carry on or be a one series show.

Oh and the Irish guy who is head of the security/military is from the confused.com adverts hehe

This was the 2010 version with Russell Crowe

Action/fantasy film based on a graphic novel, starring Charlize Theron
