Session 9 is now on Netflix, really good psychological horror film set in Danvers State mental hospital before they knocked it down. Aparently the decaying building and its contents were pretty much untouched for the filming.

I can't get into Sinner S2. The first one was pioneering but the second one I just can't get into. I get the premise where I assume the kid isn't right and there is much more to it but I can't stay engaged past ep2.

Worth sticking with?

We've just finished S1, and I really struggled to get into it until the last few episodes, then really enjoyed it. Can't say I'm jumping to watch S2 though

S2 is ok, but not the heights of 1 apparently S3 is even worse frown

I don't know the graphic novel, but the poster is staying close to it...

... still enjoying Snowpiercer!

... latest episode is a bit full on... a bit "Tarantino" at times! hehe
agreed - its really coming to point now with the story.....
Agreed Snowpiercer is ace!
Trevor from gta too haha
I think the strobe killing scene frazzled my brain. Who was the guy the 1st class lot got out of the drawer at the end?
I think I may have made a terrible mistake biggrin

Told my wife you're all talking about this on here and hired Snowpiercer - The Film, on Amazon last Saturday.

It was the biggest pile of dross we've ever watched and I got a proper telling off for listening to 'the weirdos' on PH. biggrin

I binged 5 episodes of Space Force last night and I'm not sure if anythings actually happened. I put it on as something to switch off to (and it's 4K hehe), but can't help think it's a waste of a good cast. Barely raises a smile.

If you want something similar to Gomorrah on Netflix then Suburra: Blood on Rome is well worth a watch

Innocence Files

Like many on PH, I moan about our unduly lenient British criminal justice system. However, after watching the documentary “Innocence Files” I know which system I prefer. Plea bargains, witness coercion, shoddy law enforcement investigations. I can recommend watching this, it will leave you thinking, how the hell could that happen, and how many more people are innocently are locked up.

Gladiator.

Such a good film.

That said one thing always bugs me. At the end when Maximus kills Commadus you can clearly see Crowe holding the knife to the side of Phoenix's neck. Seems so shoddy when the rest of the film is so good, including the fight scenes.

Something a bit different I've been enjoying Home Game

From Netflix "This docuseries profiles unique and dangerous traditional sports from around the world, as well as the communities and cultures where they thrive."

The Italian game in episode 1 looks brutal - a cross between bare-knuckle boxing, wrestling, rugby and football.
Really enjoyed this, thanks for the heads up.

Netflix embroiled in controversy.

Apparently there is some campaign to ban 365 days. So watch it while you can if it interests you hehe

From the description of the movie it sounds like MeToo hasn't made it to Poland yet.

Japan Sinks: 2020

Animated version of a 70's Japanese disaster novel, where Japan gets totally annihilated by earthquake, eruption and flood.

Pretty good, reviews like it, the story is popular in Japan. Just be aware it's about as jolly as Grave of the Fireflies.
