Something a bit different I've been enjoying Home Game

From Netflix "This docuseries profiles unique and dangerous traditional sports from around the world, as well as the communities and cultures where they thrive."

The Italian game in episode 1 looks brutal - a cross between bare-knuckle boxing, wrestling, rugby and football.
Really enjoyed this, thanks for the heads up.
Didn't they look fecking tough....!

Very interesting programme.
Watched this last night, those guys are brutal

The Old Guard

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7556122

Action/fantasy film based on a graphic novel, starring Charlize Theron
Released on July 10th, this Friday, looks like my cup of tea
Charlize Theron - thats good enough for me....
I don't know the graphic novel, but the poster is staying close to it...
Just finished watching this - really enjoyed it and it does have some nice touches.
Also thought it was pretty good, knew nothing about the novels but I thought they did a good job of portraying a bunch of immortals without making them out to be some sort of superhero types, just normal people for the most part but with a few skills that come with having lived for so long
Not a bad watch at all.
Wonder if they’ll carry on with the series.
Does seem like it was being set up for a sequel with the final scene where the one that has been stuck at the bottom of the ocean for hundreds of years suddenly turns up

Derry Girls S2. Brilliant writing and good sense of humour tackling really sensitive subjects and not taking any of it seriously.

Brilliant.

Innocence Files

Like many on PH, I moan about our unduly lenient British criminal justice system. However, after watching the documentary “Innocence Files” I know which system I prefer. Plea bargains, witness coercion, shoddy law enforcement investigations. I can recommend watching this, it will leave you thinking, how the hell could that happen, and how many more people are innocently are locked up.
Started watching this on the back of your post. That dentist is a deeply unlikable bloke isn’t he?
I wouldn’t like to be tried in the USA at all.

Dr West is a despicable, unapologetic, self promoting scumbag, responsible for the incarceration of many people on unreliable evidence.

Finished watching the Sinner Season 3.

It is very stressful to watch, don't dive in without some Prozac handy.

I thought it was harder hitting than the previous 2 and slightly different in flavour but all the main ingredients were there.

Magnetic.
Docu-film about various adrenaline junkies.
The first two sections about the lunatics surfing huge waves near a lighthouse in Portugal and the jet ski drivers who keep them alive, and the madmen who ski/board literally down mountains are absolutely beautiful to watch in a jaw gaping way.
There are further sections about kite surfers and mountain bikers but they come across as a bit tame until the final section which is about some certifiable New Zealanders who parachute down mountains but trying to skim the ground while doing aerobatics.
I only put it on to kill an hour and a half but ended up transfixed at the antics and even more so the fantastic filming.
If you haven't seen these then i recommend the 3 Don't Crack Under Pressure films.
Literally carbon copies of Magnetic, but i enjoyed them for all the reasons you listed above and the wing suit jumpers are insane! all the above look in great in 4K smile
Try Riding Giants and The Billibong Odyssey as well

Finished Dark Season 3

Not going to go into spoilers on this thread but it seemed to me they managed to bring it to a successful conclusion. It wasn't a perfect ending I would say but they did a far better job of bringing it to a successful conclusion than Lost ever did.

If anyone hasn't watched Dark yet I would highly recommend it. One of the best shows, if not THE best show, of the last few years.

Sincerely hope it is the start is a series - TV series or series of films... don't care, but it's too good not to continue.

It’s an older film but I watched The Man With The Iron Fists at the weekend.

Properly loved it, a throwback to the cheesy martial arts films of the 70s/80s

It was just formulaic averageness. The concept is just Highlander with newer weapons.

Pretty sure they've basically finished filming Season 2, and maybe even renewed for Season 3? Season 2 was ordered a year before the first episode premiered.

Really enjoying The Reckoning. Not the fastest paced of shows but an intriguing watch thus far.
