The Old Guard main character backstories

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khCUVWqW9BU

Obviously in the film it was implied many times that she was very old but unless I missed it I don't think it was said exactly how old well it seems we have an answer - about 7000 years old yikes

yikes I'd had her pegged at considerably less than that given her name...

And i think you'd be right, Scythia didn't exist in 5000 BC IIRC. Sometime around 1500-1200 BC/Iron age-ish is when Scythia began to form as an empire. Maybe there were wandering tribes many thousands of years preiously? The film looks quite good, think I'll grab it.

Disappointing. Old 'immortal' tropes re-hashed (loneliness/outliving loved ones etc), poor story, bit at the end where a wall showed pictures of past events and people that the immortals had influenced was laughably bad.

Snowpiercer finished - really enjoyed that. Not renewed yet but hoping it gets the green light.
How many episodes are in series 1, I've just watched episode 10.

Towards the end of the movie, there are a number of closeups of CH. Anyone else find themselves wondering how all of the earpiercings would work. Only explanation would be pre immortal, I suppose.
I wondered that but my parter said if you keep the piercings in it stops the hole sealing...which happens whether immortal or not...

Yep.

BH - if the end of the last episode you saw morphed into a comic style image at the end, you got to the finish of the series.

Cursed Out today

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8210856/

A teenage sorceress named Nimue encounters a young Arthur on his quest to find a powerful and ancient sword.

Sounds like a familiar story, might be rubbish but it stars Katherine Langford (yum) so going to give it a try

saw a preview and looked bad enough for me to enjoy (actually that's a little unfair - and I am going to give it a bash!)

I'm now on series 3 after watching 1 and 2 back to back.

Series about Cage fighters and their trainers and managers.

I really like it. Firm recommendation.
Almost through season 1, yup I like it!
Good man

I think it gets better but I got so deep into it that I could have been brain washed

Stateless.

Complex subject matter, some parts are difficult to watch.

7/10.

Well it's not brilliant but I am enjoying it all the same (4 episodes in so far). It is getting ripped on IMDB because it is woke for having a black Arthur, oh f**k off with your PC bullst. I would bet all these 1/10 ratings have not even watched it.

Quite enjoyed Stateless, Serena out of Handmaids Tale playing another crazy woman, she is quite good at it.

Yes I enjoyed it too

I had no idea what it was going to be about when I watched the canned preview which was her - mentioned above - wandering around in a hot looking climate of empty wilderness. That could have been anything.

Is it complex subject matter - not sure i can comment on that without getting into details of what its about. It definitely makes you think that's for sure.

I'm about 4 episodes in but struggling with the cliches, porn-hub scenes and gratuitous topless guys flexing. The cringe is just a tad too high. laugh
