La Revolution

Anyone else watching?

French, slightly super natural, historical, brutally graphic series.

Watched one - looks promising.

Really loving this, Mexicans and drugs and stuff, obviously some powerplay women, but not metoo like at all.

Pote is one of my favourite characters, i've started walking around the house trying to talk like him much to the disdain of my family
Yeah, really enjoying it too. Reminds me of GTA5 (game) and Power (series) in the way everyone wants her to do something before they give up something, lot's of mini stories/objectives.

And yes Pote is great and the way he talks is cool, I can't come close to impersonating him

Finished this Russian virus/zombie series last night. Whilst not very zombie heavy (they’re not really zombies in the standard sense) - it does have something.
The parts are all acted really well, it looks great and the series develops into something I wasn’t expecting- a really good story about people, unlikely relationships and a very torrid time.

Thoroughly enjoyed it - recommended.
Yeah, how good was the little twist at the end... that really set up series 2...
Took me a minute to work out why “they” turned up. But then I remembered the proximity to the area and where it was made.

Looking forward to s2.
I’m watching this too. Came for the zombies and post apoc Russian vibes. Stayed for the boobs hehe not quite at the end of S1 yet.

Well worth a watch.
Really good this. Assume it must have been intended for the cinema, based on the director and prolific cast.
Great watch, if I can be a little critical I think it may have been 20 minutes or so too short, without spoiling it for those who haven’t seen it, I just think they could have gone that wee bit further.
Agreed. It did wrap up rather quickly and I really don’t like films that put up ‘what happened to...’ titles at the end.

Great film and a well utilized cast, 8 police beatings out of 10

My Mrs is watching the Bly thing.
fk me, are they dragging it out or what. I watched all the first episode and have been dipping in and out since. There seems to be very little happening.
The setting is confusing, the kids seem to be from the 50's the nanny from the 80's the cook from the 90's and the housekeeper from the noughties. (I assumed this was deliberate but not so sure now reading the comments above) the accents are weird.
Not sure why it's being narrated.
I already called out the nanny's ghost so want to see if my other theories are true.
I'm on episode 5 at the moment, some well shot scenes and good background details but definitely agree it feels like a brilliant 2 hour film stretched to an 8 hour TV show. The fact no one acts or dresses like it was the 80's feels more like an excuse for no one to have a mobile or internet rather than a stylistic choice. I have avoided spoilers, but I'm calling it that they've been dead all along, so just like The Others

Edit - finished watching it and wasn't far off with my prediction. It also occurred to me just how little of what we'd been told mattered in the end. We spent hours talking about the backstory of every character, when only 2 actually mattered. The there were plot lines such as her uncle being the girl's real father, his manic alter ego, the doll house, the boy being expelled from school etc which were completely irrelevant to the outcome. I'm also now sure the timeless setting was more due to laziness and that it was shot in Canada rather than a purposeful artistic choice.

Is nicely shot, but seriously is one of the most disappointing things I’ve ever seen. “Splendidly splendid!” banghead

Hill House was much better.

Bloody loved Enola Holmes. Suspect being female would probably mean thats more likely though. Talks of a sequel being made (I believe 4 books were written) which would be marvellous.
Husband distinctly unimpressed to to redress the balance a bit we've started Cobra Kai. I'm a bit disinterested at present I must say.

La Revolution

Finished this over 3 nights.

Fantastic.

Best series I’ve watched in a long time (of that type).
It’s taken some stick on IMDB because it’s not historically accurate - it’s not meant to be!

It’s a fantasy build up to the revolution - gives a horror twist to the reasons behind the peasant uprising.

Well acted (if a little bit cheesy in places) - some excellent baddies, pretty ladies and brutality on a level only matched by Tarantino.

Big budget horror which is perfect for Halloween.

A strong 8 face munchings out of 10 blue bloods.
