Calm with Horses

Very gripping underworld crime film set in Ireland.
Cheers! Enjoyed that. Celica sounded great at times
I thought it was very good too...

..even had a chase scene! (although my money wouldn't have been on the Nissan D21).. < not really a spoiler >
The director is\was a rally driver, he did some BTRDA 1400 events

I'm halfway through and completely agree. Haven't engaged with something this deeply for a long time. It's enthralling. I will be sorry when I finish it tonight.

Anna Joy-Taylor completely carries it.

Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb

Absolutely loved it. What I wouldn't have given for a shovel and a few hours in that sand pit.

I watched the lot in one go. eek

Absolutely brilliant. The first episode is more about setting the story up, episode 2 onwards is where its gets going with the main characters.
The lead actress is superb, not seen her before but is she gorgeous, amazing eyes.
If this was a film she would be up for an Oscar IMHO.
Anya Taylor-Joy, she's been in a few films over the last few years and she's usually really good. The VVitch, Split, Glass, Emma, The New Mutants.
She’s in peaky blinders as the bride Michael brings back from NYC.

Queen's Gambit

Really good and makes a game such as Chess really interesting to non chess players.

It’s not exactly a laugh a minute. Turned it off after 20 minutes.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant, ever so slightly disappointed that it wasn’t a true story, but a really enjoyable mini series.

I thought the same but so many true story films are made up, this is no different, best show I've seen in a long time.

I thought most of it was just on the right side of tolerable. However (as Mrs C would vouch,) I have low standards.

However the last episode was drivel.

I’m wondering whether to watch THOHH....

I though Hill House was much better.

Hill House was good and I suspect the main reason most stuck with Bly after 3 episodes, unfortunately it just got worse

I stuck with it but wish I hadn't. Bleak or what. I do like those early 90s Celica GT Coupes though.

Ala Tyrannosaur? Which is a great film btw, but bleak doesn’t even come close.

Ninja Assassin - yes it is hokum, but it is quite bloody/violent (and improbable) fun.
