I'm very new to Netflix, but on the recommendation of a friend who likes the same types of show as me we sat and started to watch "Money Heist" last night.
It's a Spanish production overdubbed into English, well enough that it's not a distraction and I have to say I'm really enjoying it, more than most things I've watched on the box in the last few years.

About a group of criminals headed by a super intelligent "Professor" and their very clever plan to steal a lot of money from the Spanish version of the Royal Mint. Twists and turns aplenty and a decent go of developing the various characters as well mean it's a solid 7/10 so far from me. (I'm on ep8 of 32 at the moment)

Yup, money heist was a huge hit. A new season is on way at some point I think.

Are you watching it in the original Spanish with subtitles or dubbed in English? I went with Spanish.

I've gone with dubbed as I'm actually taking Portuguese lessons at the moment so didn't want to confuse myself any more than I already am lol

Trial by Fire.

Film about a guy accused of killing his kids in a fire.

A reasonable 7/10 from me.
I agree. Kept me entertained.

I thought it was awful. The direction was dire, but you get that in a lot of Spanish TV. I think their accepted TV standards are somewhat different to those of the BBC hehe I did watch a series the same director was involved in which was shot on Ibiza, in English. It had more upmarket production values and a better script. Was quite good. Perhaps someone will remember its name.

Half way through Paradise Lost and unsure what to make of it. It has held my interest, but I am at the point where the baddie gets his scalpel out and it is starting to feel slightly far fetched. Will watch some more later.

Anyone seen Murder among the Mormons?

Another thumbs up for this. Really good story well told. It would have made a great storyline for a Fargo series.

American Graffiti has just dropped.

One of my favourite films and great if you're in the mood for a gentle nostalgic trip with lots of Americana.
Great film. Which I'm glad of, as it was my parents' first date, I might not be here if it had been rubbish!
Or maybe it was rubbish, so they found other things to do to amuse themselves rather than watch a film?
Think that was the second date... "Silent running", which my mum absolutely hates! laugh
Your brothers Huey and Dewey love it though !

I have only recently discovered Homeland so far I'm nearing the end of season two and it's been quite good, I'm hoping with 9 seasons to date that it's got the legs to keep me engaged!

Homeland is very good. I blitzed it over a few weeks. IIRC there is only one weakish season, S6 I think.

Absorbing Israeli drama set in the Haredi community in Jerusalem. Gave it a go not expecting much and am hooked.

Mainly about a young man trying to settle down and through this we get to know his family.

Sounds dull but it’s absolutely fascinating. If you’re not hooked by the first episode cut your losses but it’s well worth giving a go.

I’ve been watching ‘The One’. It gets mixed reviews on IMDB which I find a little odd as I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s got a bit of a ‘Line of Duty’ with a bit of sci-fi vibe thrown in. Half way through so far.

Think perhaps some of the criticism comes from those who’ve read the book, which I haven’t done, so perhaps it strays too far from the original story.

I recommended this a while back, totally brilliant stuff.
