Cricket Fever - it reminds me of the 'F1: Drive to Survive' format but (obviously) for cricket. Follows Mumbai Indians in a season of IPL from POV of the owners, the new players coming in wanting to prove themselves and the established players trying to live up to their own reputation. Found it last night and binge watched 3 episodes (usually only watch one episode of anything in an evening) - recommended.

Wife and I started 'The One' also, reserving judgement as we've only seen 1 episode but it's an interesting premise - a new dating service promises to find you 'the one' using your DNA to match you with your ideal partner. Will see how it progresses....

There's a bit of chat on 14th March in this thread about it (page 99 of 105 for me), I thought is was good but just fizzled out at the end without finishing off a load of the storylines, probably to set up a second series.

Love and Monsters - quite enjoyed it. Possibly more Y/A than old fart material but some nice touches

Yeah it was really good. Yes it’s a bit formulaic YA, and quite referential to the YA kiddie films they grew up with (like how to train your dragon) but really enjoyed it nonetheless

So there was, thanks. Not sure I'll let slip at home that it doesn't tie up loose ends, it's one of my wife's pet peeves.

. Typical Hollywood. I was surprised to see that according to Wikipedia it was very well received.
I thought the same, it was pretty forgettable.

I like this review, ''"latest exercise in pretentious poopery", sort of sums it up, . Rated top film of 2016,
I really enjoyed Arrival, thought the idea of language and thought creating reality as quite original

The Netflix price rise wound me up so I have cancelled my subscription. Not sure how long I will last once Better Call Saul and Ozark get released.

Love vs Monsters

A shamefully blatant Poundland collage of classic movie moments randomly cobbled together with a Poundland collage of classic movie storylines.

All told in the style of a Poundland Zombieland complete with Poundland Woody Harrelson, but without any of the charm, wit or intelligence.

It is dreadful.

That said both my 11 and 14 yr kids enjoyed it and they're the target audience.

They'd say 7/10. I wouldn't.

I'd say 2 Stand By Me leaches out of 7 hidings from the The Black Rider before dodging entrails like Tom Hanks, then morphing into Leonardo DiCaprio emerging from the water after jumping from the waterfall from in The Beach just before the lead starts tripping and running through the forrest just like DiCaprio does in, er, The Beach (again) in the space of 2 minutes.

But I exaggerate.

Jiu Jitsu - I really don't quite know where to start so I'll start by saying that Nic Cage was nowhere near the worst thing in this film eek Really save yourselves the trouble and avoid this tripe

Love & Monsters watched last night,OK as mindless fluff I think, the girls reaction to him was obvious, and some great soundtrack songs (Arcade Fire, The The)

2.9 on IMDb, Nic Cage, what could possibly go wrong?

Quite a lot as it happens, imagine Predator with martial arts and dire CGI.
I didn't turn it off as it wasn't an absolute wok of toss but 2.9 is an accurate score.

He has just got married for the 5th time, to a (just turned) 26 year old. In Vegas. hehehttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9331787/N...

4 divorces means he probably takes any role offered! Rock and Roll!
