An oldie, but I've started started to binge on The Office US, as always been on my list to do.

It has a Parks and Recs feel to it. Very enjoyable.
Technically, as Parks and Rec came out in 2009 and the US Office in 2005, Parks and Rec has an Office feel to it.... wink
I've been listening to a podcast hosted by Kevin from the Office, Apparently parks and rec was originally going to be a spin off of the Office, coming under the "an American workplace" banner. It was started by a couple of writers from the Office.
Finished it now. Top quality work,

The cast, Kevin and everyone were superb. And even more so when I found out that Toby, 'the temp' and Kelly were hired as writers on the show and then took these parts on top of their day jobs. The actors playing Ryan and Kelly have an on-off romance for some time too.

Took a little while to get over the loss of a leading character, but it had recovered in my opinion, and could have gone on a while longer.

2.9 on IMDb, Nic Cage, what could possibly go wrong?

Quite a lot as it happens, imagine Predator with martial arts and dire CGI.
I didn't turn it off as it wasn't an absolute wok of toss but 2.9 is an accurate score.
I gave up after 15 mins. The CGI looks like it was done on my phone. Frank Grillo and Tony Jaa, hell even Rick Yune deserve better. Cage deserves everything he gets hehe

I actually really enjoyed Love & Monsters, great CGI, good fun and didn’t take itself too seriously.

We watched Love and Monsters last night. It’s was, as said above, a Poundland Zombieland. With a few other film references thrown in. I even compared Minnow to Newt. They mostly come at night with her monster knowledge. Mostly. And clearly lined up for sequels.

What if didn’t get though was the red dress. Most films have red as a significant colour representing a metaphor etc. Sixth Sense, Don’t Look Now, Schindler’s List, American Beauty, The Shining. The dress was used well with Boy holding on to something but what the hell happened to it!? I’d almost hoped it might have a Cinderella ending where his true Princess turned up with Boy wearing the dress. Disappointed.

Started to watch Superstore. A few episodes in and not yet convinced.

In particular, the poor man's version of MC Grindah is rather annoying and I am tolerating his scenes.

American Assassin

Bourne/Bond wanna be from a series of books. Not bad by any means but nothing that hasn’t been done better before. Still one of the better Netflix films I’ve seen lately.
Michael Keaton holds it up.

Love and Monsters.

Silly. Very silly but no pretence at trying to be anything other than fun. Not a bad watch.

Thunder Force - don't just don't.

I like a lot of what Melissa McCarthy has done - yes it's lightweight/fluff but, on the whole, I found it funny enough. TF is, however, total toss.

2/10 (and one of those is for the soundtrack which I really enjoyed)
her films have been on a very downward slope for a while
The one exception was “Can you ever forgive me?”, which I thought was good and you didn’t have to suffer her trying to be funny (and failing).

I watched the docu-series “The Night Stalker” last night. I’m partial to a bit of true crime type stuff but this gripped me through all four episodes. Worth a watch if serial killer nutjobs are your thing!

No I didn't get that for the same reasons either.

Finished S3 of Shtisel last night. Brilliant television.
Just found out the hard way that there are only 9 episodes in S3 as opposed to 12 in the previous series

Gutted that I’ve finished it but thoroughly enjoyed it. Brilliantly written and the acting is wonderful.

Without a doubt the best series I’ve seen on Netflix.

Another thumbs up for Love and Monsters here.

Not a challenging film but it rattles along and there's a few neat set-up/pay-offs.

Why on earth would Bruce Willis get involved in something like that. Unless he got the whole $33 million, which would explain things.

Anti-life. One of the worst films I’ve ever seen.

Had to keep watching it because it was so bad.

Ignore the CG, which is awful. I don’t think I’ve seen physical sets that bad for sometime.

Apparently it cost $33 million to make.

I think that Brucie is turning into Nic "will work for food" Cage

I've been having a few weeks of "late to the party" viewing hehe

Firstly, I binged Don't Fk With Cats, for me it lived up to the hype in terms of suspense and what a total freakshow that guy was. His mother was definitely delusional too!

Secondly, I cleared through Life on Mars before it disappeared and have just started the first 2 episodes of Ashes to Ashes.
I know it's supposed to have that effect, but does anyone almost cringe themselves inside out when he's talking to his parents or girlfriend's family as though they know who he is, and they're weirded out? I also thought the ending rather odd given how keen he had been to escape.
Other than that, Gene Hunt's offensive one liners are all the more hilarious in these modern times hehe

was this the movie that ended up being a total scam where the producers just took almost all the money before anyone realised it and bogged off to Thailand or something, then the studio basically made it with 1 dollar and paid bruce 29.99999 million?
