we used to laugh at everything, but suddenly laughing was belittling it, and people jumped on the back of this. Sad times really.

I like The Office. I like After Life. I like (some of) Extras.

I don't generally like Rick Gervais' stand-up.

But Super Nature is very funny. Well worth a watch to see irony done properly.

Just watched it.
I like his previous stand-up and its nice to hear this type of comedy as it seems rare now.
Solid 9/10
Wife laughed a few times and she's not a fan of his so must be ok.

Will add that to my list then for funny things to watch!

Just finished "The Silencing" which I quite enjoyed. Not an absolute gem but a reasonable way to spend 90mins to chill out.

A new series of "Somebody Feed Phil" is coming this week. Enjoyable, gentle travelogue with slightly barmy, very hungry American host. Looking forward to this.
Love this. So pleased it’s back.

I also hope there’s more Comedians in cars getting coffee.

The Chapelle Show.

I know its old but I've never seen it, very funny.
Don't watch if you're easily offended.

Super Nature was very good. The trans extremists are up in arms about the transphobia, which is definitely a good sign.

Funny you should post a Daily Mail link to back up your "fk them" attitude.

Was this the same daily mail and its readers that got in a right old hissy fit when Stewart Lee did a routine on Richard Hammond?

(quite relevant seeing as Ricky Gervais seems to have 'borrowed' part of Lee's act in this latest standup)

The only bits I've seen of this latest Netflix show by Gervais is a joke about Female Comedians not being funny, which is just a rehash of a joke about Black comedians he made on Extras, and a bit showing him explaining that he'll be doing a lot of jokes where he actually thinks the opposite, which is as I say a direct copy from Stewart Lee's routines.

I don't think he'll be copying Lee's latest routine on Ricky Gervais though - which was/is brilliant.

I cancelled Netflix last month; I just popped by to see if any of PH's POVS (Permanently Offended Virtue Signallers) had latched onto the Gervaise thing.

Wasn't disappointed rofl

Who’s said they’re offended?

It looks crap, out of date and lazy to me but i’m not offended.

I'm not sure how his "new women" thing is lazy or out of date. Bang up to date I'd say, and something that should be said.

It was more the no funny women comedians and jokes about AIDS that stood out.

People have been mocking trans people for years, he's hardly a visionary, and even in that bit he can't help borrow Stewart lee. it's basically "you've seen these new women they have these days' adding new women in stead of rappers ;-)

Again Im not offended I just don't think he's a good stand up, in fact I think he's a terrible hack of a writer and comedian. I appreciate lots of people disagree, and he's a multimillionaire - I can guarantee he mentions that in this standup.

I have never really liked him, I have tried to watch things like The Office, After Life, some of his stand up etc. At the end of the day his type of humor just does not work for me so will not be watching any of his stuff in future.

Watched the Ricky Gervais thing this afternoon. Now I like the guy and his stand up and comedy series……. This was not quite as funny as his previous stand ups but still had me laughing! A lot!

The Office series one is a masterpiece.

The rest got gradually worse, then rapidly worse when he stopped working with Stephen Merchant.
