Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 season 2

I'm enjoying it but my goodness every episode ends abruptly.

Also I've just finished Ep5 and so far everyone seems to have totally forgotten about Togusa, and that was the cliffhanger of Season 1

Edit: How funny. Ep6 has just reintroduced him
The weird hacked about Sustainable War film they made from Season 1 has that reintroduction (the phone call?) as the ending. So even more confusing!

In general with Season 2 I don't think they were trying too hard to stay faithful to Season 1, think they did a semi reboot.

I agree. The two series do seem only loosely connected.

My other half has got into Stranger Things. It’s not doing anything for me. I’m quite glad she decided to carry on watching it without me!

Just watched the new Ricky Gervais show. Very funny.

I binge watched season 4 of stranger things the other day and didn't realise till I got to the end of episode 7 that they've gone and split the season up and aren't playing the remaining episodes till July banghead

Having said that, the action and visuals are superb. I am really enjoying this.

Currently in the midst of S2E11

Ok E12 is getting weird now.

Edit: I mean weirder

Edit2: Also, what's with all the 1984 references?

Edit3: Ok, that was all rather messed up. Standard GiTS:SAC

That was a worthy reboot. Despite the CGI style

Did feel much more 'proper' GiTS:SAC by the end, especially the way they left it.

Think the 1984 stuff started out in the first season as an influence on a particular character, and got taken to a conclusion.

Re. the CGI I think they tweaked it quite a lot compared to the previous season, less cel shaded and better character animation too. A long way from my favourite style but not at all bad.

It was a radically different style. Even more extreme than RWBY and Gen:Lock (Both by Rooster Teeth) but I accepted it and it proved to be a really worthy GitS for me.

I really enjoyed it.

Also I leave you with a song from a ghost who no longer has her shell. RIP Origo.

A film about a floating radar/interceptor missile base terrorists and nuclear missiles.

About 15 mins in I looked it up on IMDb and saw it was directed by a Matthew Reilly a name seared into my brain, futher reading informed me it was the same Matthew Reilly, the one who wrote the most overblown fking rubbish it's ever been my misfortune to try and pass the time on a flight with.
Ice Station was its name with a hero called Scarecrow, fking awful.

Anyway onto the film.

I didn't turn it off, that's my 5 word review.
In fact ill contract it to 2 words - seen worse.

I was debating over watching this yesterday and Untraceable , decided to go with the latter as it starred Diane Lane.
Sounds like I made the right choice.
She's a FBI cyber crimes specialist investigating a serial killer who tortures victims and lives streams their deaths on the net.
However he's a computer genius and is always one step ahead of them.

Decent thriller 6/10

INTERCEPTOR

I watched this the other day,

I thought it had potential, unfortunately it was badly written, badly acted and generally just full of plot holes.

I'd give it a 4.5/10

Trying to get into Stranger Things but the plot seems infantile so far, the kids with their "Scooby Doo" sloothing skills are annoying and cast overall are unconvincing.

Just starting Episode 6 of series 1 so nobody could accuse me of giving up early.
Thought it was just me.

Persevered to the end of series 1, but it just didn't hook me.
Me too. I'm generally not into sci-fi/fantasy type stuff though.
I do like sci-fi but I think this is too much fantasy so far but I'm persevering.

I came on here and slated "Wrong Side of the Tracks (crime drama) and whilst I still stand by my original comments, it turned out to be worthwhile persevering to the end in my opinion.
I'm at ep 5 of season 1, and I'm trying to stick with it for a while. The whingeing black kid gets on my nerves though (am I allowed to say that?)

Brilliant film. The reveal is a real 'oof' moment.

Rather than a Gem I have just finished another average Netflix original series in "Katla".

It is an icelandic series about a semi-abandoned town living under an active volcano.

The setting is the best thing about it as it is a unique setting with ash drifts everywhere. The acting is usually decent enough, though many characters are rather too cam with what is going on. The story is an interesting premise with some good moments but you can't help but think that people would question what is going on a lot more and earlier in the series. Flawed but interesting in parts.

+1 for Stranger Things.

I'm not into monster-y Sci-fi stuff but I think it's great.

Tried Ricky Gervais' new stand up thing. It's crap. Turned off after 10 minutes.

Ironically, although my family love Stranger Things, we’re on season 4, and I think it’s childish pony and I’ve just watched the Ricky Gervais special and I thought it was hilarious.
