Finished The Night Agent this evening. Pretty solid. Bit typical American in places but overall definitely worth a watch I think.
Half way through it, throughly enjoying it.Edited by lornemalvo on Sunday 9th April 23:02
You
I've enjoyed the previous few series but the latest one really jarred me. I think because it's set in "London", which is basically an American's imaginary version of what London actually is. I know that a lot of urine has been extracted about Joe's walk to work but it's more than that, everything is wrong with the setting. They're overly specific when they don't need to be and they're factually wrong most of the time which makes it worse. Most of the supporting cast are awful as well. However......I've got two episodes left and it's kept me entertained in a trashy way. Quite looking forward to the ending now if nothing else than to see where it goes.
Beef
Watched the first episode after seeing great reviews and it seems excellent so far. If you've not seen Ali Wong do stand up give it a go she's hilariously brutal.
The Punisher
Never seen the film before but I saw a pic Jon Berenthal posted of him and Thomas Jane recently which may or may not hint at something upcoming in a new franchise so thought I'd give it a go.
It's not as bad as I thought, very much of it's time but Jane was pretty decent in the part. Paper thin plot and acting from everyone involved but I enjoyed it.

Wife and I watched Night Agent this weekend, must have been half decent as we binged it pretty quickly.
Yes, it's been done before, but what hasn't?
Like many said, you kind of know all the way through what's going to happen, but there's just enough doubt to stick it out.
Not saying it's brilliant, but certainly enjoyable enough amongst a lot of guff out there right now.
Started Beef last night, will see how that pans out.

War Soldier
Norwegian WWII drama that I think was originally a film, but Netflix have split it into three episodes. Brilliant production values, engrossing story, atmospheric, emotional & harrowing. I felt the emotion the characters were feeling and cared what happened. Not often I say that about modern TV and film.
Best thing I've watched since Chernobyl, didn't feel like a Netflix show, much more HBO.

Seen the first two episodes and it was one of the few things done by Netflix that felt too short. In that it could have been stretched over twice the episodes easily. If it was originally a film that would make sense.Norwegian WWII drama that I think was originally a film, but Netflix have split it into three episodes. Yes this is good and continues a theme of some of the best things on Netflix being from Non-american sources.

Sounds good, just looked for it though and did you mean War Sailor? Couldn't find War Soldier but from the description I'm assuming Sailor is the right one. Watched Luther last night (the movie), another here who hasn't watched the series yet. Decent, great villain. Only complaint was the final location.
Enjoyed it. 7.5 bodies out of 10 murders.
Oh you've reminded me I watched this as well at the weekend.......Enjoyed it. 7.5 bodies out of 10 murders.
I really didn't get on with it. There was too much that was too far-fetched. Appreciate you haven't seen the series, it's at least somewhat more grounded than this.
I also felt they sucked all the humour out of the character, always loved his little one-liners and quips but in this, we got none of that.
I know it's not true but I defiantly felt like the whole film was an advert for Idris as Bond. But on a budget
6 red ties out of 10

If Idris can't be Bond then perhaps he and the writer deiced to make Luther a spy so he can live out his fantasy
