Turned over from the Liverpool champions league game at half time to be confronted by the absolute pile of poop that was the rapper Dave performing his song Black. What a load of utter talentless st...back to the footie!
Everyone seemed to love it on Twitter hailing it as the best Brits performance of a generation. I turned over mid way through his set, heard him call the PM a racist and then say something about Grenfell and switched it off again. I absolutely hate it when singers/rappers use their 15 minutes of air time to promote political agendas. fk off!

Jack Whitehall taking the mickey out of the guests and audience was the highlight for me.
That was the only bit that I really enjoyed. I was looking forward to it after I'd watched the 40th special programme...but I thought that it was crap last night. I'm probably too old for it now though. cerb4.5lee said:

I've been watching the Brits for years...it's always been a car crash, but the performers did at least have a ray of talent. I mean even though a particular genre wasn't to my taste, I could at least see how it may appeal to some (i.e. Teens).
Sadly it seems, you can't point out how certain performances were st in your opinion, simply because...
I feel sorry for the younger generation mainly. Will Stormzy honestly be part of their Desert Island Disk collection???

The term refers to someone excitedly and wildly expressing a point with minimal detail and much bluster, while exposing their ignorance on the subject under discussion; in particular, the colour of such a person's flushed face is compared to the type of pork of the same name.[1][4]

How dare those chippy black folk sing songs about the discrimination they would have suffered whilst growing up in South London, they should be knocked down a peg or 2 by some nice white policeman with some batons no doubt
You can tell some people on here have never encountered being stopped by the police for WWB or DWB, its pathetic the casual racism on here day to day

I watched a bit, I thought Dave's Song was pretty powerful, makes a change to commercial stuff. I listened to a few other of his pop songs and they aren't bad.
I've got his album on blue vinyl, it's not bad - for the genre - but I think he over-egged the pudding here. Mind you, it's not like music stars have been benign, bland, apolitical creatures in the past, no matter the colour.[54yr white male privilege middle class speaking, of course]

Imagine the riots if Lewis Capaldi, Harry Styles, et al, came on with “White is Right” or something along them lines at back of the stage in bold letters
Absolutely what I was thinking....Dave’s lyrics to black...
The kid dies, the blacker the killer, the sweeter the news
And if he's white, you'll give him a chance, he's ill and confused
If he's black he's probably armed, you see and you shoot
