In one of the recent Smith & Sniff Podcasts Richard Porter talks about DOH & The Fall Guy - think he'd met someone in the US who was involved in the shows, interesting stuff & very much of its time re H&S etc. That Fall Guy truck was always the coolest.
I'm lovin' this. I don't watch much telly and nly discovered this during channel flicking during lockdown and has been a great antidote to the doom and gloom.
I was born in 1980 and remembered this show when I was a nipper and was surprised to learn this was going strong into the 80s as I used to think it was a 70s show. As someone mentioned earlier it was the epitome of tea-time telly - watch the start, have your tea, comeback to watch the rest and you'd hadn't missed much.
I was apprehensive at first thinking it would be dated, would not have aged well but the more I've watched the more timeless it feels. Not only is it harmless fun - unless you're offended of Southerners stereotyped as dumb, simpleton rednecks - but it reflects the timelessness of American society: libertarianism and mis-trust of authority

Bump, ended up watching this with my 7 year old and she absolutely loves it.
Like many I loved it as a nipper but tv being what it was back then and no internet it would have been sporadic and no idea what season etc. It's been great watching from the start....half way through season 2 now. Some of the stories as better than expected, and its all good clean wholesome fun.
The last reunion special was only 5 years before the 'new' film.
Anyways I'd love to get her a General for Christmas but they're either tiny or £100, if anyone has any links to something sensible feel free to post them

I'm still fascinated by the show and watched lots of documentaries and podcasts on YouTube, I was going to buy a really nice general lee but like you said it was £100, i also went on a driving experience day in a general lee, to be honest it was very disappointing

I was a little too young to notice her at the time (born in 1977). I was more interested in the General Lee, but I'm sure my Dad was able to appreciate her.
By the time Baywatch arrived I was very much interested...
I was confused - Daisy Duke was beautiful, but it was Bo Duke (Jon Schneider) who really grabbed my attention. Whether by accident or design the cousins were often shirtless. As was Tom Selleck on Magnum. A bit gratuitous, but welcome.By the time Baywatch arrived I was very much interested...
But from memory Daisy Duke was often leaning in car windows in her famous shorts - I agree it would not be shown this way today!
