Did anybody think it a bit strange that the top of Lucy's legs were blurred-out last night as she sat on the sofa in that short dress? Was this meant to be part of the humour of the faux reality?

Wife noticed it. I assume it was scripted like the rest of the show. Otherwise they could have just re-shot it

It's a real shame, they're both quite annoying and now some other poor bds are going to have to put up with them.

They should do the decent thing and stay together.

I've only ever seen her on Live at the Apollo and Would I lie to you .....is she really that dumb or is it her act ?

On Thursday I said to my wife that I wondered if John was cross about the fact that Lucy's career is on the rise since she joined 'his' Meet The Richardsons show, while his seemsto be going the other way, and then on Friday, this was in the news...

Pretty sure she was more of the driving force in that show, she certainly did more of the writing.

She writes it though doesn't she?

Thing I found most odd is it's got quite a following, a new series they've been promoting and then days after announcing a divorce. Not that I watch it. Quite like him on 8 out of 10 though ...

No idea if she writes it and I don’t know if what we see from her is an act but she can be very funny deliberate or not .

Weird wording on their (presumably joint) statement though?

"...we would like to announce that we have separated."

I'd have thought that "we are sad to announce that we have separated." would be better?

Shame all around, really. I'm not a big fan of her act (if it is an act), but am of Richardson's, especially as the straightman for others (e.g. Carrot in a box) and so could tolerate them as a double act.

I’d imagine they were probably asked if they could delay the announcement until after the new series started so as to not destroy it’s viewing figures.

She is one of the two main writers certainly and her career is definitely in the ascendancy.

Shame as the 5th series has been on really good form.

I don't watch it but apparently in the last episode she's looking for a replacement for John for the next series.....art imitating life smile

I mean it could all be an elaborate fake-news story to tie in with the next series…

I reckon she's got a thing on the side with Sam Campbell. They have a podcast together now after appearing on Taskmaster together.....
