That’s five out of five good episodes so far. I’m so glad they didn’t f*** this up.

Probably a little too light hearted for me, but still decent. Someone has taken note of all the positive comments The Orville got last season.

This is everything Discovery & Picard isn't.

With The Orville back, it's like having proper Trek back.

Another great episode.
I loved the resuscitation of the original Star Trek "fight music" in more of an obvious "studio set", a nice bit of retro for us old folk laugh

Pike does Kirk so well.

Knowing you've got an appointment with destiny rather than just thinking it probably helps.

I think this may be my favourite Trek.

Agreed; SNW has been excellent so far and I like the more 'Trek-esque' episodic story-telling rather than a longer over-arching season-long storyline.

Watched the first S3 Orville episode tonight and that's back on form too although a little more serious than before. Fewer one-liners and gags which weirdly makes it even more Trek-like. Not sure if that's good or bad yet; part of the charm of the Orville was the slightly more comedic element.

I'm really enjoying it, it's serious, light hearted, techy and trekky all in one. Episode 5 was nicely silly but well done

I guess the Gorn are the antagonists for this ...

Enjoying this series, definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise. But Ep.5 felt more like Red Dwarf than Star Trek. “Body Swap” anyone? Also if the Doctor could do some fancy Katra swap thing then how come they’d forgotten how by the end of ST3?

I've liked all 5 so far. Really like the way Anson Mount is playing Pike, and the rest of the principal cast are all pretty solid in my view. Christine Chapell looking VERY slinky in this latest episode.... tongue out

Yes, when I heard that music accompanying the fight, I must've been smiling like a crazy person. So far this has been excellent, well written characters and well acted.

Episode 6 maintains the high standard. This is my favourite series, without doubt.

Though Captain Pike's high hair? Hmmmm

Certainly a contrast to last week...

As for the hair, my wife thinks it's getting higher each week...

He makes me jealous with each passing episode. I'd pay a million to have a head of hair like that.

It's the best new trek for a very long time.

I like the way the relationships are building between the characters.

Although, the amount of back-chat from crew to senior officers is rather off-putting, esp. from the security chief.

And, well: https://youtu.be/GkMy7a2-jB8?t=92

And, having just seen it, episode six was outstanding!

A proper original series morality tale...

It's bigly hair, no doubt.

If they ever do a live version of Johnny Bravo, Pike has the perfect hair.

My favourite episode so far. It's funny how the multi-season story arcs of Babylon 5 and the new BSG seemed so new and fresh 20 years ago compared to TNG, but now it is the episodic format that feels fresh again.

On the topic of the retro haircuts, I want to see someone with a beehive biggrin

Preferably that also looks like Yeoman Rand.

Episode 7 does not disappoint, it's fun, a little campy and very TOS. This series is getting better and better.

The identity of the character at the end was unexpected, but not unwelcome

What did concern me though was this: Pike's hair got very messed up
