Jason Statham
My mate has a theory that Statham is never the best part of any film he's in. Hard to argue.
It's the accent. Trying too hard to be simultaneously cockney, American and some kind of Italian mafioso (regardless of the role), and failing on all counts.

ETA: I mean Statham, of course, not your mate wink

Back on topic, I can't believe that no-one else has gone for Chuck Norris.
Nobody else wants to commit suicide

Chuck sees and hears all
Gulp.

I'm doomed.
Was going to say - he was indeed nominated!

But yes, I'll go with Seagal.

I enjoyed Under Siege, I didn't mind the sequel, and actually I think his inclusion in Executive Decision was a good one because it gave a good unexpected twist before even the halfway point of the film.

Slightly unfair. Maggie was considered to show him as being pretty decent, it's just the material usually doesn't call for it.

He's certainly no idiot, and I saw an interesting thing where he talked through his films and the who/what/why of them. Seemed to have more clue than a lot of actors.

I read the title of this thread and without even seeing any posts, I immediately thought of Seagal. I'd like to also nominate Vin Diesel.
Vin diesel’s action stuff is quite poor but he’s much better at his tv stuff. Got to say he’s excellent in coach trip.

Brian Bosworth 80's NFL star was pretty poor, Daniel Craig doesn't impress me much in anything except Knives Out recently, and Kevin Costner has had some very poor 'action' films to his credit.

How about Mr Seagal & "Stone Cold" Steve Austin together?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_Conviction

I feel sorry for anyone who actually pays to "rent" it on Amazon Prime for £3.49 - they should pay you!

Stallone has done all sorts including some proper classic stuff and a fair bit of junk.

Also not too bad as a screenwriter and director.

Its got to be Seagal, have you seen 'On Deadly Ground' that has to be his worst film and what was Michael Caine thinking as well, he had an academy ward and was starring in this crap. He must have needed the money.

My OH, alerted to this thread, nominates Tom Cruise.

In mitigation he is apparently "a short arse Scientologist, who looks like he couldn't fight his way out of a supermarket carrier bag IRL".

Stallone allegedly has an IQ of 160. He wrote Rocky in 3 days. He can put muscle on and put fat on seemingly on demand. (He allegedly got his body fat down below 3% for Rocky 3). Ok, as an actor he can appear a little wooden but there is no-one else who comes close to what he has achieved in his genre. And let's face it, action movies are not renowned for their acting talent.

I think it was on Jonathan Ross where caine said this:

Jr: jaws 4, what on Earth were you thinking it was awful, have you ever seen it?
MC: no, but I have seen the awfully nice house it paid for.

Or something along those lines.

Roger Moore said something similar when asked whether he was bothered by unfavourable reviews (A few years ago, so prior to social media). His response was in similar spirit and along the lines of "When I read them on my balcony in Monaco....."

I'd vote for Seagal as well, the only film of his you ever need to watch is Under Siege. His fights are so boring, most of the time he never takes a single hit and he runs like a girl. Plus you always have to have the exposition scene where we're told how the character he's playing is an ex-Delta Force Navy SEAL Green Beret black belt elite assassin with 500 confirmed kills, was awarded the Medal of Honor twice and nurses poorly kittens in his spare time.

Stalham, has made some enjoyable films, Transporter and F&F are entertaining

Dolph, well he was big in the 80s and Red Scorpion had him go all arnie and sly with a big gun

JcVd bloodsport, Awol, kick boxer, for there time all good films (for their time)

Seagal......what a total , st actor st person, even his early films he looked like a cock on screen.

Frankly I am struggling to think of any redeeming traits of Seagal...he was married to Kelly le brock, wired science and women in red.

Oh just remembered he always interfered with production and writing in his films....so I recall on film his character MASON STORM (said in a deep American voice)....total also as one reviewer said runs like a bh too

He made many films and his most successful one was executive decision with Harrison Ford, the saving grace was him dying early on. As I recall Hollywood did not like him but his st movies kept making money all the way up to Executive Decision.

Still runs like a bh.....oh and if his films are not bad enough....Law Man the TV show WTF
