Agreed - they would have been better releasing 2-3 episodes to get people going and then do one a week, to keep people talking about it and generate buzz. When something is actually good, releasing it all in one go does it a disservice.
For most of the 1 a week series I wait until they have all been shown. Very frustrating.
one of the advantages of streaming is the ability to bingwatch, it's a distinct advantage over the old broadcast way of consuming. Bing-watching for me please
Me too. I see why one episode a week works for Amazon. I don’t see how or why it works for me as a consumer. I’ll watch all of this over a few days (just about to start episode 6). Being able to plough through it works for me - it keeps my interest.

Contrast with week by week releases - I forget to watch, and end up rediscovering it and binging when it’s all available.

Arbitrary waits on a streaming service make absolutely no sense. They don’t have airtime and a schedule to fill, so why release in a way that suggests they do?

Have to say I’m enjoying it too. Feels very “fallout” in tone and content. I also have no issue with fat vault dwellers - no reason food should be scarce in the vault if it’s well set up and planned, and with limited scope for exercise you’d almost expect there to be overweight people in it.

Fat surface dwellers would be a different matter, mind you, but I don’t recall seeing any so far.

Two episodes in, and I'm enjoying it so far. It feels like they've really built the Fallout universe, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Never played the game, just watched episode 2 and must say it is brilliant.

Fair enough. Whatever works for you.

For the reasons we've already discussed

Big fan of the games, have thousands of hours logged in their various iterations, and I've really enjoyed this adaptation, I think they've done a great job with it.

Walton Goggins is really on form, he's one of those actors I find is always a high point in whatever he's in, but he's properly getting his scenery chewing in with this.

Loving this, up to ep 4 so far and am now tempted to try the game again (I tried Fallout 4 I think it was many years ago but gave up early as kept getting killed by mutants). So for all who've played the games which is best to begin with on PS4 Pro?

(asked here as current and figure anyone who's played the games will be watching too)

Contentious subject and you will get many answers.

My own journey was that the first Fallout game I played was Fo3 and then forward chronologically (ie. New Vegas then Fo4). Anyone who played the games before Fo3 first will vehemently declare they are best and the switch from Isometric to FPS was when the series died. Maybe it did for them, but I tried 1 and 2 but didn't get on with them. So perhaps they are incompatible.

Each to their own

If you're getting killed early on, you're trying to playthrough too quickly. Take your time collect everything you can carry, and practise killing anything that moves. You'll level so much it'll become fun wandering further into the wasteland.

I'm on episode 2 of the series and in love. Just amazing! My wife is also enjoying it despite my running commentary of the Easter eggs and FO lore. Best show in years!

Thanks.

Just been reading around and it seems New Vagas gets most critics love but is only PS3 as far as I can tell so 4 it probably is, especially as I can get it with all the DLC and more updates for it are hitting on 25th April.

Cheers. Knowing me I would have rushed off far too soon to repeated death in the wastelands without engaging brain. smile

Can't help you there as I am part of the PC Master Race. biggrin

New Vegas was an Obsidian game so very different to Fo3 and Fo4. Those that like New Vegas might also like The Outer Worlds.

(The Outer Worlds was free last week on the Epic Games store but sadly no longer)

Just finished it - very happy with what they did, and very much hoping for a second series. Seems to be riding high in the most watched list, so hopefully they’ll do a second one.

I’m up to 5 and if I’d had more time I’d have watched it all. It’s excellent. I am reminded how good of an actor Walton Goggins is. For those who didn’t see it first time around, The Shield is an excellent American series about corrupt cops. Walton has a prominent role. Its ends in a definitive and satisfying way and for me, was a much better watch the Wire (tedious after the first season) or the massively overrated Mad Men.
The Shield gets little love, I suspect because many never saw it.

I watched 5 of them last night, it was 3.30 when I went to bed hehe I would happily have carried on!

One of the best things I've watched in a while, I've not played the games though, but this had made me want to.

Looking forward to watching some more. I've not watched a series for a while where I would happily start from the beginning again.

Allegedly a second season was already going ahead before this one started, at least if the paperwork is to be believed for the production.

That's great news.

Much have been immensely expensive to make as the production values were so high. I have no idea how much was practical sets and how much was CGI, but either way it looked spot on.
