I love how they took the time to show a Prydwen-class airship in Ep1. I mean, I am saying "Prydwen-class" as I am pretty sure it wasn't the actual Prydwen and I'm assuming the BoS have more than one.

Incidentally, I very nearly got a BoS tattoo when I played Fo3 and I am so glad I didn't as they are utter dicks in Fo4 and it seems Elder Lyons' Fo3 BoS were anomalies. Sadly.

I’m up to 5 and if I’d had more time I’d have watched it all. It’s excellent. I am reminded how good of an actor Walton Goggins is. For those who didn’t see it first time around, The Shield is an excellent American series about corrupt cops. Walton has a prominent role. Its ends in a definitive and satisfying way and for me, was a much better watch the Wire (tedious after the first season) or the massively overrated Mad Men.
The Shield gets little love, I suspect because many never saw it.
The Shield is where I first saw Goggins, agreed, it's a great show.

Much have been immensely expensive to make as the production values were so high. I have no idea how much was practical sets and how much was CGI, but either way it looked spot on.
$153 million.

*Lots* of practical stuff, props, vehicles, aircraft, creatures, sets, plus they built their own Volume stage to add in backgrounds.

The Pip-Boys used a iPhone inside to make it work.

Funny you should say that but I spent a stupid amount of money on the Fallout 4 special edition that gave you a steel book copy of the game, a bobblehead, and an actual fking PipBoy into which you put your phone which ran an app to make it function like a PipBoy. It could even interact with the game.

No, I am not joking

Done 5 episodes so far, loving it, but I also loved the games as well. To those who didn't like it or never played them, give them another go, I did F3, then New Vegas, then 4.

The music in them (both the series and the game) is fantastic as well.

Absolutely loving this series - on episode 8 currently. The humour, the writing, the attention to detail. One of the best adaptations I have ever seen.

Even playing Fallout 1 again now - althoigh I had forgotten just how bloody clunky and slow it was.

3 in, still loving it.

I assume later we're gonna learn about some of the shady vault-tec vault experiments. One my absolute favourite parts of playing NV was finding the vaults and then finding out what grim experiment was conducted on the inhabitants.

I hope for season 2 we get introduced to vault 108 hehe

I stuck this on the other night and it's great (Guardian liking it still surprising!)
Only got 40minutes into ep1 but the Mrs (who apparently hates Sci-fi) was totally engaged with it as well so we are now watching together. Hence why I'm only 40minutes into Ep1.

I've played FO4 but no others, I liked the way they are presenting the characters and the use of game mechanics especialy Lucy at the start, easy win on her not being called out as a Mary Sue.

I put of watching this, I've only played Fallout once, I can't remember which one it was, but it was a nope from me.

My ADHD does not enjoy RPGs or indeed cutscenes.

Watched EP1 one last night and loved it. Not everything makes sense to me, but I guess that's as much about story telling as me getting distracted by a squirrel or something.

I binged it right through on release & thought it was absolutely brilliant. Would put it in my top series watched alongside, Sopranos & Chernobyl.

Its a bit of a masterpiece really, great production and tone. Its pretty much an 8 hour movie, so releasing it all at once was really well suited

I have only ever played a few hours of Fallout 4, so not really a previous fan. Although Ive now been playing Fallout 4 non stop since watching the series.

I think this was the best Game to TV Show I have ever seen. It just "pips" The Last of Us to me. A close battle but I think the nods to the games (Junk Jet, Hacking etc) push it into first place. Which amazes me as I really thought it would annoy me... But the Fallout humour has been well caught I think along with the difficulties of surviving etc..

One question, what is "the Ghoul" taking to stay non-feral? I don't recall that from the games at all (thinking of Underworld in F3 for example). I assumed it was Jet given the inhaler but still....... I guess that is a "TV extra" bit for interest?

In my opinion The Shield is right up there with Band of Brothers and The Sopranos as the greatest tv shows ever made. Walton Goggins was brilliant in The Shield and the main reason why I've just watched Fallout. I'm not a gamer so had never heard of Fallout and had no idea of the storyline. I saw a trailer and knew it was Walton Goggins so decided I'd give it a try. It was good and I'd definitely watch a second series.

You don't need to have played the game but there is obviously loads of stuff in there for people who have.

I played it for maybe 2 hours in total but got bored when I repeatedly got mauled to death by the same monster thing.

I have no idea about the whole Fallout universe or any of the lore which goes with it.

I still enjoyed it.

If that is Fallout 4, you need to get the core for the power armour that is on the roof then use it to kill the deathclaw - you can hide in a building so it can't get in and shoot him...

You're not alone!

I'm thinking I'll give the game another go all these years later though thanks to the TV series.
