It looks like ALL the Fallout editions are on Xbox Games Pass
As they should be. Microsoft bought Bethesda last year for $7.5b!

I watched the first episode last night, absolutely brilliant. I finished Fallout 3 and played half way through New Vegas. It just captures everything so well.

I hope Lucy finds the Alien Blaster before she meets her first Deathclaw!

Vaguely aware of the game title and the logo.

Really enjoying it so far. I know it’s not tv as such, but they really do keep setting the bar higher and higher with budgets these days.

I finished it. It’s excellent. Throughout. Quality actors, big budget but most importantly, well written. If I was the show runner for Halo, IP with rich backstory, I’d feel ashamed of myself having watched this.

Just finished it too.

Excellent all round, right mix of humour, gore and production.

Never played the game.

Shogun has also been superb.

Old man here who packed away his Xbox, Playstation and Wii a decade ago biggrin

Never played the game or had even heard of it until I spotted this thread last year.

Forgot about it all until my daughter told me to watch it yesterday.

Amazing, brilliant and can't believe something this good is on Amazon. Love the look of it and the feel.

The graphics during the end titles remind me of GTA5. Any connection?

First 2 episodes last night and looking forward to more tonight.

Liked the alternate 1960s beginning too.

My only criticism and it’s not actually to do with the show itself….

Did they really need the excessively long credits and why were they in all languages? Or was it just mine that had 5 mins of credits between episodes and didn’t auto skip to next episode.

I’m trying to binge watch this at 1am, I don’t need to see who did the sound mixing in 4 different languages!

Finished it up yesterday, and despite my reservations about the trailer it turned out well. The lead was likeable and works because she was only a girl boss in her own mind and they managed to capture the humour of the games whilst balancing it with the more serious aspects. Also liked how the story of the vault is continuing even after she left, which did explain most of the questions I had from episode 1 (even if they did seem to recover rather quickly.)

Wouldn't quite say it was perfect though, there were a few too many plot conveniences and they did overdo the "play slow relaxing music over intense slo-mo violence" trope. I did also wonder if, since it isn't specifically stated in the games, the revelation that Vault Tec launched the nukes was done because Amazon wants to sell the show in China.

It is something that is strongly hinted at in the games, and pretty much confirmed in some terminal entries in one of the games (I forget which). So this is consistent with game lore.

Are you sure you didn't keep enabling V.A.T.S. whilst watching? silly

Loved this show. Never played the games. Binged in three days. Only just noticed that the main programme picture (shot of Lucy stepping out the vault into sunshine with a couple of blurry buildings in the background) is a skull if you squint a bit. I know! Took me too long. Only when I saw it on the tablet did I realise. Doh!

Loved the games and absolutely loving the series. The sets and attention to detail are fabulous.
Quite a bit more gore and blood/guts than I expected on a TV series, the wife couldn't watch the ghoul/girl finger scene!
Got 3 episodes left and already wishing for the next season.

Really enjoyed episode one.

Not keen on them all being released at once as it removes any possibility to discuss things as the series progresses.

Also wasn’t a fan of the overly exaggerated graphic uber-violence which rather detracted from the plot and means our teenager can’t watch it with us. 15 certificate? Really, should be an 18 at least.

The violence, gore, and gibs are entirely consistent with the game and, honestly, I think a 15 cert is entirely appropriate. You're having a laugh if you think it's worthy of an 18 and your teenager has probably seen far worse behind your back already.

If you think that was uber-violence then you clearly have never watched anything uber-violent.

You’ve clearly been desensitised. An 18 would be entirely appropriate, you only need to look at the parental guide on IMDb to see how misaligned the certification is.

This is simple Childrens fare, wrapped up in violence. It’s pretty enjoyable for what it is, but let’s not pretend otherwise.

I do like that it’s a bit like Silo, but a lot more fun! Really looking forward to the rest of the season. Oh, and BBC the sound mix is superb - however much is going on you can always hear the speech.
