They did pretty well with The Expanse and also Good Omens. And although Dirk Gently deviated from the books quite significantly, I thought they captured the essence of it fairly well.

It's also going to feature a female protagonist and I'm just waiting for the backlash of comments saying "So woke! When I played these games where you can literally choose the gender, age, skin colour, and physical appearance of your character, I always chose a man so therefore the character should be a man!"

Not necessarily. Westworld started great, but turned into a dumpster fire and got cancelled early. I’ve only watched season one of the Boys and that was decent. Apparently season 2 got a bit woke though.
Visually, Fallout looks impressive, although having a female lead these days doesn’t give me much confidence. Hopefully she’s not just another unlikable, invincible, Mary Sue girl boss, who is good at everything because vagina. One of the writers co-wrote Captain Marvel, so that’s not a good portent.

Well, the simple answer is not to watch it then and go find something more macho and manly, where women are only supporting characters. It's not like you're short of choices.
