Vexed, haven't seen it since it was shown years ago - I liked it, looks like nobody else did.

Hung
2009-2011
A divorced high school teacher with 2 kids, house fire and no insurance, so he needs to raise money for the repairs. He goes to a business seminar type thing, meets a quirky woman there, they're both looking for a business opportunity to raise income. Turns out that the main character is very well endowed, lightbulb moment for the quirky woman and she becomes his pimp.
The Thick Of It
A comedy that satirises the inner workings of British government.
One of my all time favourite shows. Superb writing and acting.

Great thread! Most of my go-tos have already been posted but couldn't see a mention of Killjoys (2015-2019), it's Canadian and came to the UK via Syfy. A trio of bounty hunters run around their little corner of the galaxy chasing bounties, partying hard and cracking wise.
There's a bigger arc of course - which takes our reluctant heroes to weird and bizarre places (metaphorically and literally) as the show progresses, and blessedly a proper ending!

In my head this I've always linked with Dark Matter Though for no reason except I guess they were out at the same time. There's a bigger arc of course - which takes our reluctant heroes to weird and bizarre places (metaphorically and literally) as the show progresses, and blessedly a proper ending!
Continuum was another one I liked, involved time travel, quite decent, proper ending. I also liked some of the things they did with the story - messing about with time travel has consequences and they aren't all good.
Timeless isn't bad either, sometimes got a bit tied up inside its own story themes but solid enough, they weren't afraid to have bad things happen & unhappy endings and they did cap the story off in the end.
12 Monkeys is properly brilliant, it makes the film seem lightweight. First season sort of overlaps with the film and it expands enormously from there. Lots of story, lots of things happening, lots of consistency in tracing the many strands the plot from beginning to end and a properly closed out story that ties all the bits together. Loved this so much.

Thanks for the reminder - I remember watching and enjoying that when it was on, and had completely forgotten what it was called.SpudLink said:
Glitch, an Australian drama about a small town where people return from the dead. They literally crawl out of their graves, seemly healthy and cured of whatever injury or illness that killed them.
It is on Netflix, so I’m not sure if it counts as obscure.
Thanks, I'm just watching the first episode now - it's stirring stuff. It is on Netflix, so I’m not sure if it counts as obscure.
The lead character, the policeman, was also in A Moody Christmas which is a very funny Australian sitcom from about 10 years ago. It's pretty obsure and wasn't even known by an Australian woman I spoke to a few weeks ago. Recommended.

Dark Matter was solid enough, although I lost interest when I learned that it had been cancelled on a cliffhanger. I loved Continuum! This thread is the first evidence I've had that anyone other than me actually watched it Timeless was an enjoyable romp, and I was glad they actually managed to shoehorn an ending in even if they didn't get chance to let it unfold fully, and you've reminded me that I need to watch the final season of 12 Monkeys, I was properly hooked!Continuum was another one I liked, involved time travel, quite decent, proper ending. One of my favourite ever series was Turtle's Progress. Two series, 1979 & 1980.
(with apologies if it's been mentioned, possibly by me but CBA checking 20 pages)
Two blokes on their uppers, reduced to nicking vans for a fee, steal a Transit that's parked at the back of a bank. It has loads of safety deposit boxes in it (the police collar the thieves as they are coming out the bank, wondering where the van's gone) - each week Turtle and Razor Eddie open a new box and the story unfolds.
Loved it then, still do (on DVD).
