Don’t get the good scores here, this was a Statham film not a Ritchie one unfortunately so it was a straight revenge action film where JS recovers from many bullet wounds to kill all the baddies.

No twists, characters or plot. Makes the Equaliser films look good. 3/10
Disappointing movie. First half showed promise, second half descended into dull B movie action film. Like so many other Ritchie movies, it became tiresome quickly. 3/10 about right.
Yes agree with this, disappointing. It was curiously flat when on paper all the individual elements seemed like they should have come together for something with a bit more fizz.

It was also predictably tedious that Our Hero could hit people between the eyes every time at 10m, under fire, with a general use pistol, but not lay a mark on multiple densely-packed targets with an assault rifle, because that would have interrupted the plot.

Harry Potter and the order of Phoenix

Watched with the kids 8/10 still a good movie after ten years or so.

9 3/4 before anyone asks...
I still haven't watched a whole Harry Potter film, and I'm still happy with that hehe . They are films I probably would like, I like sci fi/fantasy stuff. But I've gone this far without watching them, I've got stubborn about it and don't want to break the run. I've seen bits, and I've seen stuff about the CG and the effects, but I'm not giving in and watching a whole film, unless there's a very good reason, like the box set being stupidly cheap somewhere.
I didn’t really watch it. I was just hoping someone would ask the apparently de riguer question about platforms.

I like most Ritchie stuff. Not sure what the resemblance is to many other Ritchie movies TBH, it was just a dumb JS B movie, had none of the wit, or multi-layered plot of Snatch, LS&TSB, The Gentlemen, RocknRolla etc

Plan B

This one as there has been a few of the same name:
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt13172796/

Essentially two young friends trying to get the morning after pill for one of them. Very funny and different from most coming of age movies. Pretty adult humour 8/10

IMO The Gentleman, Rock'n'Rolla, Revolver, King Arthur and Wrath of Man - all directed by GR - share the same problem - start off OK but just become mundane and run out of ideas by half time, when Ritchie fails to pull of his Tarantino homage and the gulf in terms of directorial talent between the two is highlighted. Sherlock Holmes was good, helped by a reasonable lead and plot, and apparently Aladdin grossed over 1 billion so someone must have liked that. hehe

Wrath of Man

Guy Ritchie, Jason Statham, What’s not to like? A pile of utter tosh, don’t waste your money or even your time, I’m sure there are pron films with a better plot. Both of them should be ashamed of this output!

I say we take off and nuke the whole platform from orbit - it's the only way to be sure.

Do you have kids? Arguably the first Harry Potter movie is one of the best children's movies ever made - it mesmerises pretty much ever kid who has ever seen it and the next 3 are not far behind either.

Riders of Justice (2020)

A Danish language film with subs (obvs), and a (very) dark comedy/action film starring Mads Mikklesen. An army veteran's life is thrown into disarray when his wife is killed in a train crash, seemingly by accident. He seeks revenge and is helped by a geek who happened to be on the same train when it crashed. Multi-layered, smart, bleak and funny (at the same time on occasion). Can't expand too much without giving plot elements away, but if you liked Nobody, you'll likely love this.

8.5 lone guns out of 10
Just watched this based on your review - great film, I'd put it up the with the 8+ score too

Thank you

Call Girl of Cthulhu on Prime. "When a virginal artist falls in love with a call girl, she turns out to be the chosen bride of the alien god Cthulhu. To save her, he must stop an ancient cult from summoning their god and destroying mankind." An HP Lovecraft inspired low budget sexploitation gore fest. It's not great. Some of the acting is physically painful to watch. 4 bare boobs out of 10 exploding heads.

Yep, bonkers but fun and watchable.

Demolition Man, on Netflix.

One of those action films with a wafer thin plot with no twists and turns and everything signposted in 100ft letters. Punch ups and SFX obviously have nothing on today but the world building, use of language and general setting was great. Some good jokes as well.

Score is obviously 3 sea shells.

Bicycle Thieves. (1948)

A wonderful film about a man whose bicycle is stolen in post War Rome and his efforts to retrieve it.

Highly recommended.

That's a fair assessment. Awful plot holes aside, I have a lot of love for this film.

Funnily enough, Dennis Leary doing his standard stand-up routine is less jarring now that we no longer see it all the time.

Love the bit when Spartan get a burger and a beer and Huxley says "don't ask where the meat comes from", "do you see any cows down here"

I watched The Mule last night on Amazon Prime.

Clint Eastwood directs, produces and stars in a typical latter day Eastwood film. He plays an old guy a bit down on his luck who ends up getting dragged into being a drugs mule. He gets the money he needs and the cartel get an old guy who drives safely and doesn't draw attention.

He has sacrificed family life for work and the film focuses on his inner conflict of wishing he had been around more for his family and wanting that time back. Despite having cartel content, it's not an action flick or a typical gangland shoot fest. A solid movie with some good performances.

A good 7 / 10 from me.

Lucky they were aiming it at kids as at least they won't notice that none of the leads have a clue how to act in the first one. One in particular you could really spot the prep & theatre school in them.
