Death Wish 3

I had never seen any Death Wish movies before and now realise how little I have been missing.

Charles Bronson fights the worlds most inept and camp criminal gang.

3 out of 10.max
I watched a little bit of that yesterday evening as well. The film's ste but the locations & backgrounds are interesting to see the state of parts of mid-'80's NYC... or so I thought, until I read up on the filming; turns out quite a bit of DW3 was filmed in London (Brixton & Lambeth)!

The original film is excellent.
And was highly controversial at the time and had to be cut in later years.

I quite like Death Wish 2, Laurence Fishburne plays a street punk who gets whacked by Mr Kelsey.

The death count in the last 30 minutes is hilarious.

Watched....AFTER THE FOX..... 1966 , today .

Peter Sellers , Britt Ekland playing his 16 year old sister , aged 24 .

He plays an Italian thief , in a semi Clouseau style , not laugh out loud funny but a comedy farce .

Period city street shots wall to wall with Alfas and Fiats .

9 Fiats out of 10 Carabinieri Alfa Guilias .

Is this the one where the baddy gets blown out of the window by a bazooka at the end? The RLM Best Of The Worst episode is great.

Ruroni Kenshin: The Final (2021)

On Netflix. Watched it with daughter. Most live action of manga/anime aren’t great but this was a very good effort. We thought the sword fighting scenes were very well done. Not quite as reality defying as Chinese stuff like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon although not fully realistic. Daughter was swooning over the lead actor. Apparently up there with Chris Hemsworth.

Solid 8 out of 10 katanas

The Philadelphia Story (1940)

Showed it to my daughter yesterday. I’ve seen it many times. Still great even after so many viewings. Great cast and great dialogue. What’s not to like?

9 out of 10

I watched Come and See, one of the supposedly "Best war films ever made".
I strongly disagree, and found it simply disturbing.

I'm just watching The Hitman's Bodyguard because it's Friday, and I've had a glass of wine and... I don't have to explain myself to you!

Anyway; I'm struggling to recognise where in Coventry this was filmed.

Yes they had a great time with that film. Poor film but great for having a laugh about on RLM.

But a necessary film.

Even many of those who know about Nazi crimes tend to glamourize German soldiers somewhat. That is the reality of what they were doing on the Eastern front in thousand upon thousand of Russian, Belorussian, and Ukrainian villages and towns.

I think if a war film is described as 'simply disturbing' then it is probably the best war film ever.

Perhaps it's the most accurate war film ever?

Every one knows that the best war film of all time is Kelly's Heroes!

Watched Unknown last night. Liam Neeson's in a traffic accident, wakes up 4 days later and finds his wife doesn't recognise him and is married to someone else with his identity. Most of the plot's fairly obvious but it was a decent mix of mystery moving to action. 7/10

Animal Factory (2000) Prime

Drug-bust youngster's befriends long-term lag & mates during his first prison sentance.

Based loosely on Eddie Bunker's (who also features) semi-biography The Animal Factory, able US prison drama w/ T2's Edward Furlong & an excellent Willem Defoe as prison sage.
