"Miss Meadows"

A nice film with Katie Holmes in the lead role, quite a quirky thing but i enjoyed it.

I didn't realise it was Katie at first, quite an interesting looking woman. biggrin

Over the last couple of days I've watch Rise of The Foot Soldier 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Just starting Villain with Chris Fairbrass.
I hear they are/were writing ROTFS 5 starring Vinnie Jones.

The Death of Stalin is a film that grew on me with repeated viewing and which I now really love, so maybe I might like this.
There's something about that man's touch - take "In the Loop" and "The Thick of It" - but the little charade of Real World Clown DJ Trump that weekend.... all I could think of was "Death of Stalin".... you just imagine that, behind the scenes, DoS was a blueprint for how to panic in a Trump administration....

In fact, may have to watch "In the Loop" again....

The Empire Strikes Back.

Just got in from the cinema as they're re-screening it for its 40th anniversary.
Still an excellent yarn.
Long movie at just over two hours but I enjoyed my private viewing. (Support your local Gunfighter cinema - if you're still able to)
Out of interest were they showing the (I think) 1997 re-mastered version or the original cinema release (if that's even possible anymore)?
My money is on the 2004 version

Road House yet again. Honestly, I never tire of this film.

Fights, drinking, hot doctor, bimbo with big knockers, cars, more fights, classic lines, fat bloke, explosions and a plain Jane who brings doughnuts.

If I could only ever watch one film again it would be this.

10/10 all day, every day.
Not seen that before so gave it a go. It was enjoyable for 80% then completely jumped the shark. That seemed to be the norm back in the 80's. for this kind of film biggrin
I’ve got a Double Deuce t-shirt somewhere. I like this film, plenty of cheese. It’s in the same bracket as Point Break for me.

the searchers . Lots of hype about it being one of the greatest films ever. Just nice postcard shots of monument valley for
couch potatoes that dont travel much.
Quite a nasty racist effort really. I think they cut bits of it as it was a sunday afternoon bbc film. Lot of the spiteful behaviour toward the native american 'wife' may have been cut.
Film released a few years after de-segregation was enacted in the USA and you get the feeling it was a fight back to highlight
the savage other.
Lots of poison for young impressionable minds. No redeeming features. Thanks bbc, better double the taking the knee quota.

You're best to stick to woke stuff by the sound of it. Times change. Showing a film doesn't mean approval of all of the content.

Be very careful watching old films - you may see a man slap a hysterical woman. On the plus side, no tongues involved when kissing.

And a grapefruit in the face, James Cagney in The Public Enemy gets angry.

The Captain.

German film about a Nazi deserter who finds a captain's uniform.

Very powerful and gritty, oft surreal. 8/10
