Beverly Hills Cop recorded from ITV4 the other day.

Just great.

9/10 - get the fk outta here!
Just legendary - between that, the sequel (not III), 48 hrs, Trading Places, Coming to America, etc. I can't think of a better decade for cinemagraphic output...

People st on the 80s but I reckon it's the finest decade in the history of film.
And music, don’t forget music.

And cars.
And FA Cup finals.

haha watched this on Prime at the weekend, fantastic film. II is not free on Prime though, but I'm tempted to just pay for it.

I first watched BHC 3 when I was about 10 loved it, mum and dad bought me the box set the following Christmas, at first I wasn't to sure about 1 and 2 but after a few times realised that are brilliant.

Number 4 is in production apparently. Just hope they dont ruin it.

The Velocipastor. It's on YouTube, and it's the best terrible film I've seen for a while rofl . Priests, ninjas, a "dinosaur". What else do you want in a film? And it's only 1hr 10 long.

9 ninjas/10 rubber suit dinosaurs.

The trailer

The film

Smile

I don't entirely get the love for this little horror film. It's a kinda cross between Fallen and It Follows with a bit of Body Snatchers maybe.

Anyway, it gets critical acclaim in some quarters but it's merely a 5/10 film for me.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but on a slightly different thread, I'm going to propose the pinnacle year 1995 - with the following releases
- Se7en
- The Usual suspects
- Heat
- Casino
- Braveheart (may not be everyone's cup of tea)
- Toy Story
- Apollo 13
- Before Sunrise (as for braveheart)
- Waterworld (as above)
- Twelve Monkeys
- Goldeneye
- La haine
- Leaving Las Vegas
- Ghost in the shell.
- Get shorty
- Mallrats
- Babe
.......
And a lot of others.....were released in 1995. What a year.

That was a very good year. 1999 gets a lot of praise too, for objectively great films and also quite important ones:

- Fight Club
- The Matrix
- The Sixth Sense
- Being John Malkovich
- American Beauty
- The Green Mile
- Office Space - certainly not an Oscar-winner but very culturally relevant
- Human Traffic - as above but much more British
- Dogma
- South Park movie - the show was huge at the time
- 10 Things I Hate About You - pretty much a template for rom-coms that followed
- Star Wars Episode One - not a particularly great film but reignited the Star Wars franchise for a whole new generation
- The Blair Witch Project - love or hate it, it did something very new and basically pioneered the 'found footage' horror genre
- American Pie - kickstarted the high school / college teen comedy genre that was huge in the early-mid 00's
- Toy Story 2 - very good sequel to the first film
- Eyes Wide Shut - personally not a fan, but generally highly regarded

National Lampoon's Animal House and Class Reunion predated American Pie by a very long time.

Also "Porky's" in 1981 with an early role for Kim Catrall.

They do, but I feel like they'd faded out of popularity in the 90's, American Pie definitely reignited that genre for the next half a decade, the series itself and the loads of other similar films were pretty big... It's all died off now of course and would probably be considered problematic laugh

Under Siege

Not one of the 90s’ proudest action moments, Steven Seagal is our wooden hero saving the world from USS Missouri having been hijacked by Tommy Lee Jones.

Colm Meaney and Gary Busey under-used, Erika Eleniak transforms from frightened Playmate to gun-toting hero in about 15 minutes. She does, however, provide the moment all us young-in-the-90s blokes remember as the “highlight”, when she jumps out of a birthday cake…

Maybe I’m being a bit harsh but:

6/10

I don't watch a lot of TV, but the other night I decided to see what's on Amazon Prime.

MEET CUTE. Sci-Fi Fantasy

A girl travels back in time to spend the night with a guy she met in a bar. Again and again.
Source Code meets Sliding Doors meets Edge of Tomorrow, but with the girl from The Big Bang Theory. But grown up.

Very odd but strangely watchable!

It’s a much better action romp than 6/10. And not just because of Erica who was stunning clothes on and clothes off….

Busey and TL-J are just epic. Totally steal the show and really show us what a dumb wooden ham Seagal is.

Busey wasn’t acting at all if you consider his current lifestyle….

Demolition Man

Sylvester Stallone is a 90s cop who is sent to deep-freeze prison after being framed by Wesley Snipes, his nemesis.

Awoken 40 years later, Snipes is back on the rampage and a soft modern society needs an old-style cop to deal with an old-style bad guy.

Great fun action daftness with added Sandra Bullock and lots of ‘splosions. Love it.

9 Tacos out of 10 Bells. With this kind of film I’m easily pleased!

It's a better film now than it was then, IMHO.
