Just watched a trailer for this new drama with Hugh Laurie as a Tory Minister.
Looks worth a watch even if it won’t involve sticking a supercharged V8 into a rusty Charger. wink

Yes

Doh!

Apologies.

I selectively read your first post - got excited - responded - and then thought “stupid plonker.... I’ll Google it.”... then realised you’d told us!!!

You just can’t get the staff these days, y’know!

Not as good as I had hoped, I expected it be a bit darker but it did hold my interest. Will watch next week to see if it gets better.

Realised I only watched it to the end to if it got better. It didn't.

Surely if you want to hear about sleazy Tory (other political parties are available) ministers you just have to watch the news?

Needed more shagging!

It always annoys me when they do unlikely things - would a Government minister really go and visit someone, without knowing who they are, in prison? And trott off into the night carrying their red box?

Didn't notice but in real life they have a big pool of cars. Thought it was odd his driver seemed to take it home with her - again, surely that's another thing they don't do?

It's certainly a BBC type mega-diversity cast fest, a Scottish political advisor, an Irish journalist, lots of unlikely black
and asian judges, para-legals and barristers.

No gays as yet, but 3 eps to go.

Boxes ticked, trebles all round.

Talk of a Foreign Secretary who makes gaffes and is fond of ‘Churchillian speeches’ whilst serving under a female PM.
I wonder who they had in mind as the model for their fictitious Foreign Secretary scratchchin
hehe

If this didn’t have Hugh Lawrie headlining i doubt anyone would be bothering with this. Watched it last night with an open mind and by the end was yearning for a repeat of the original House of Cards.

I could have changed over but Hugh Lawrie kept my attention. By the end of the first episode a few surprising relationships of the supporting characters whet my appetite for the next episode.
