Automotive Vloggers (Vol. 4)

Despite actually having more time than ever to watch YouTube videos, I find myself watching less and less British automotive content.
I know it's been hard to travel so much, but Harry and jayemm still do a great job. It's the non-review stuff that I just can't get engaged in now. The north Americans and Russians doing hands on stuff is much better.
Tend to find myself watching more bitcoin/economy interviews & yachting adventures.

If you like travel, then Bald and Bankrupt is awesome.
Found another channel called Memphis, about some young Belgian gents who buy and fix up old cars.

Jayemm has got a clever approach in that because he has reviewed so many different types of cars, he is always there or thereabouts in the search results. Search for a 997 GTS he'll be in the search results ditto a 997 Turbo, 911 Clubsport etc. etc. Personally, I am not a fan of his style, but I can understand that he only has a short time with the cars and therefore has to make the most of it. That said, I thought his Porsche GT car episode was very good - he was just talking in that video rather than trying to talk, drive and review at the same time.
The approach I took from reasonably early on was to try and cover a fairly broad selection of cars. That was for two reasons:1. I like lots of different cars. I'm greedy. I want to try all of them.
2. I figured that growing slow was a better strategy long term. A lot of my YT friends have started off as relatively single marque channels- eg. Adam Ivell, Stef AB etc... and that can help grow quickly- but the second you deviate from your core audience the whole thing just falls apart.
It means that my average views may not always be great- because my audience have different interests, but it also gives me flexibility. I could buy a Morris Minor or a Huracan and I think I'd have audiences for both.

There's a chat with Yiannimize and James (MrJWW) on Stereo regarding Litchfield. James should have posted this on YouTube as the Stereo app needs your personal details!
Is there no work around for this Stereo app thing? I don't want to keep having to get a app for this and that giving my details over.BawlBag said:

I know many here don't like James, but this is a very informative video on painting a car, I knew there is quite a bit of work that goes into painting but nothing like this!
Apart from that paint guy who didn’t let his colleague get a word inthesmurfs said:

I can't see Stereo lasting that long. It's just more inconvenience of downloading and signing up to another app that doesn't really offer anything new. Why have different music streaming apps and various podcast apps when you can get pretty much everything with Spotify?614-HSO said:

I also hate his continual disdain for cars older than 2 years and only liking modern things.
Did you all hear the one where he said the Mclaren F1 and Ferrari F40 were crap?
"I mean I've nevva driven' 'em or nuffink'
That's because it's the fashion these days, isn't it. All these 'influencers' who have supercar collections that only have brand new, stupidly over powerful supercars kinda screams to me that they're not really an actual petrolhead, just someone who likes to flex expensive cars to all of the kids on Insta who cream themselves. I've been lucky enough to drive some lovely cars and I've honestly had more fun in a Saxo VTS because I could actually use all of the power without doing dangerous speeds. That Tony comes across as an absolute gobste who doesn't really know much about cars, just how to sell them. Calling him a petrolhead is a bit of a stretch.

Congratulations Jayemm - I’m sitting here wondering whether you are

b) completely mad
c) completely mad
or
d) a massive gambler (that is completely mad)
Seriously though - hope it all works out well for you

I think it looks stunning though, I have expensive tastes but low standards. Loose bits of interior and flaky paint wouldn't bother me too much
Thanks all - I did a reasonable amount of due diligence on it, and AV have gone over it fairly well so we now know where we stand. The fact it actually is the correct colour makes a big difference because I can now just paint the sections of the car in need.
Which bit of music did you like - the one for the Lambo reveal or the end montage? I can look up what it is
