Harry reviews one of my 'mostest favouritest' BMWs ever.

I think he quoted 190k for this one (one owner 19k miles). (missed that boat )

The Z8 is one of those weird cars where had it been a big seller would probably not be worth much now - but has always been a bit of an oddity.

If memory serves the Alpina version was quite well received?

I think motoring journalists at the time saw the aluminium chassis and M5 engine and expected it to be a super sharp handler/performance car and as such were disappointed. As Harry says, think of it as a 7/10 cruiser and it makes much more sense.

Alpina mated their tuned version of the M62 V8 (as per B10) to an auto box so perhaps suited the overall nature of the car better.

I think BMW worsened matters by also fitting RFTs to the Z8 (whereas Alpina used non-RFTs).

IIRC the Z8 was about 80k new so not cheap. I remember them getting down to maybe 40k at one point (if not less?) and then Hexagon in North London seemed to buy them all up. Prices have only been going up since.

Mate, I've got no skin in the game here but not sure why you would be worried about your showing your cars on a car forum, especially when you're so proud of them and theyre well worth looking at.

He removes the number plates from his 3 series and Alfa saloon before leaving them anywhere public, and if anyone even dares look at them as he passes, he stops and gets them to sign a mickey mouse NDA. Because he's important and not a sheep (even though he's got a 3 series, which are famously more ubiquitous than Ford Mondeos, but he's not a sheep. No way.)

I'm fairly sure I've posted pictures of every car I've owned on PH at some point or other, though not in this thread.

I would though quite happily if I was a boastful argumentative tosser like you and actually had a simple opportunity to prove that I wasn't a liar aswell.
