I couldn't get YouTube to update my price off my phone but worked off the laptop. £2.50 a month for family membership, happy days!

I use to have Premium, my brother had the family account but he cancelled it due to the high costs, least we got it back now.

I wished I’d gone for the family account now, but my latest bill was 80p so I don’t want to tempt fate by attempting to change it!

Haha. Now you know it works perhaps you could get your missus signed up to family plan and add the kids to hers if you have any

I have premium with 4 channels nested under it. The kids have their own channel and history so not impacting my recommended feed. It does mean we are all signed in with my credentials but from there they have their own experience.

So those who are doing the Argentina VPN thing, are you getting charged currency exchange fees from your banks or have you chosen accounts that have free foreign currency purchases?

I'd prefer to pay direct debit from my bank rather than have to pay off a credit card every month, Lloyds who I'm with charge 2.99% but I guess on £2.50 subs that's still nothing?

Get a revolut card. Also you're aware you can set up a direct debit to pay off a credit card too right?

Well my last transaction fee was £0.04 and total bill £1.50. I’m sure the exchange rates aren’t great either, robbing bds! ranting

Yeh, think I'll just DD from my bank account.

Does it let you use your home address, or do you have to create an Argentinian address?

Long time ago but I followed the instructions wherever they are and yes I had to choose an Argentinian address as I remember looking at places on Google maps. Never changed my real address with bank or anything this was just all on the signing up process

Monzo bank. If you apply for an account you get a working card number in 10 minutes

When I signed up the instructions linked to a helpful random address generator for Argentina.

Yes same, I’m on the family plan which has now gone up to ARS 3699 which is about £3.45

Might have to compare with India or one of the other countries and jump ship!

On the other had I think the exchange rate keeps dropping so that is probably why they keep increasing the price in ars to protect their profit margin. So although it’s going up in ars I’m not sure how much it’s going up in GBP. I think it’s a jump then it starts falling until the next jump.

Edit just checked, back in Feb 21 it was ARS 179 which is now about 17 pence so pretty sure this is a cycle we will keep seeing.

Although I am on the Argentina plan and it's cheap, it's still annoying that once again a company is hiking prices up quite significantly. Similar to Ring who increased prices by nearly 50%

15 November 2023: Price increase to 1569 ARS (£1.45)
Today: Price increase to 3699 ARS (£3.42)

I think the problem is that the ARS is on its arse. After the last increase I was paying over a pound, but it seemed to come down almost every month as the value of the currency kept on decreasing.

I think anything under a fiver is a bargain.

Just received the email, so mine is going up from 80p to £1.65 (currency fluctuation apparently).

I don’t think I will be complaining though.

Yes but they aren't really increasing the price for us are they?

December 2022 I paid £3.40
December 2023 I paid £3.50

The problem is that the currency loses value so quickly, that they have to keep adjusting the price to maintain it.

I'm sure at one point it was circa 500 Pesos. Even at £3.50 odd it's still way cheaper than the UK

I have a Surf Shark VPN, I've connected to different countries, India, Ghana, Turkey etc but it still shows as £12.99 GBP to upgrade.
I don't want to change my location on my account as it says you can only change this once every 12 months.
Is that what i need to do ?
Anyone any ideas ?
Thanks
