VPN set location to Argentina, purchase YT pro, I used a Monzo card. Under £2.00 a month.
Been using it for a few years.
I’ve been doing the same for the last 18 months although my Halifax Clarity card expires in a few months so I might have an issue with it unfortunately.
I updated my payment card details about a year ago with no problem. I also upgraded to a family membership allowing me to share the premium access with my partner and a secondary account I have.

That’s the thing - I watch more YT than anything, and (as designed) the adverts just wore me down in the end. I have to say that it is a bit novel just clicking on a video and it starts!
I find my tolerance varies depending on the advert and how often it repeats.
I watch a fair amount of YT and of late have noticed the more I watch the longer the ads get, but the less I watch the shorter they are.

I think the tactic is to wear you down but sometimes they just drive me to Rumble.

Retrying this as sick of the ads and i've canned Netflix now.

Have Chrome Browser with Urban VPN.
Doesn't affect PC as runs Ad Block anyway.

I mainly watch on TV with a Chromecast unit.

I'm hoping to add premium to the PC and assuming when I re log in on Chromecast it'll pick up the Premium.

Tried Argentina, with Credit Debit and Revolut but all are Visa so no joy.
Don't have a Mastercard.

Would a different country work with Visa?

Try India.

If you apply for Monzo, Starling, Kroo or Chase card you would have a functioning card number in 15 minutes.

You don't add premium to a device, it's added to the account you log in to YouTube with, so any device you use YouTube for the Premium membership will apply provided you log in to YouTube on that device.

I think you’ll only get it to work with a Mastercard.

Mine is 389 Argentine Pesos a month, or £0.88.

Yea it is - I probably would pay full price only as my partner and I watch it for at least an hour every night. But I'd feel ripped of by the cost of it.

Thankfully the VPN trick has worked really well for about 2-3 years now.

I doubt I'm alone but I'd happily pay £6-7 a month and not blink just for no adverts.
I'm surpassed the only option is considerably more and no doubt puts people off.

Just incase people don't realise...you only need to use the VPN when setting up Premium from Argentina. Once its all set up, you don't need to use the VPN.
I'm surprised this trick still works to be honest...but it does, so happy days.

Ref this Visa MasterCard thing with Argentina - I just went on to Revolut chat support and asked for a permanent Mastercard virtual card.
It appeared within 10 seconds and I have been using it since (for YT Premium) with no problems.

Just done this with Nord via Ghana, costing GHS 23.00/mo which works out to £1.36. Revolut wouldn't work but Monzo did no issue.

Thanks to whoever worked this out, the YouTube ads were really starting to do my head in.

You're welcome

Funny-ish story. I had YouTube premium via Argentina for about 2 years. I was paying about £1.20 per month.

The world went nuts when YouTube hiked up prices across all countries. The US and UK got hit really badly.

I got the email saying prices were going up. I was pretty annoyed and looked.

The price went from £1.20 to £1.80 or something like that.

Absolute bargain for being able to click on any video without adverts. It's one of my main forms of entertainment and follow many people on there. Some very unknown basic channels and others who are basically pros and making high quality stuff

Being so happy to pay 7 quid, and delighted to pay three quid, suggests to me they are buttering you up to pay 12 quid plus when they decide to flip the switch on the Argentina scam

Are TUK and Argentina still working?

Using ExpressVPN, Tur didn’t and YT said it couldn’t find my location when set to Argingina.

Going via South Africa worked. Using a Wise card.

Yeah, you can bet that if anyone knows exactly who/where you are on the Internet ... it's Google.

The fact that they are allowing people to sign up as if they were in a completely different country for a much lower price (when Google surely knows they are in the UK) definitely suggests to me that they are basically trying to get people hooked on the service for when they get around to pulling the rug in the future.

No need to maximise your time in Argentina or Turkey. The VPN is only needed for the signing up process. Once you have subscribed you won’t need to use a VPN again.
Just use any free trial of a VPN.
