I've got the Indian special, and despite it initially suggesting a lot of Bollywood content, i think it's realised that i'm not interested now.

My work PC prevents me from logging into my google account - my god, what an eye opener. There are ads like every 5 minutes in most content, making it unusable in my eyes.

I'd definitely pay more than the £2.50 a month it cost me !

I would say that even at full price if you watch a lot of youtube its 100% worth it. At 2.50 its a bargain.

I mostly use the YT client on my Virgin Tivo V6 box - I've noticed that using that I get a fraction of the ads I do on phone or PC.

I don't think twice about paying to remove spotify ads, so after finding out youtube music was a servicable alternative, paying to remove youtube video ads started to make sense .

You tube music is surprisingly good. You can flip between music and video on most devices. And when watching Youtube on tv, your audio playlists, become video playlists.

They’re asking for too much to remove the ads. I know someone provided a guide earlier for how to get it cheaper but I cba with that either.

They definitely repeat the same annoying ads to get you to crumble but I refuse to let them win.

For ads longer than 5 seconds I’ll stick to closing the video and re-opening it couple of times which usually works

Why can't you be arsed? It takes about 3 minutes, then the ads are gone, better than paying 15 quid a month....

As a recent convert to you tube I'd be interested in layman's terms explanation how to do this? Reading this thread is a bit like trying to learn Latin.

Do you have a vpn? If not, download a free one and set it to Argentina (to make google think you're in Argentina)
Create a new gmail account whilst 'in Argentina'
Go to this site: https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries... and generate a fake Argentinian name and address for your new Argentinian gmail account.
Whilst you are logged into this Argentinian gmail account (and still 'in Argentina') open youtube and you will be offered Argentinian pricing 119ARS standard or 179ARS for family membership.
Pay with your card - it's ok to use your UK billing address at this point.

You now have youtube family premium for c.£1/m. You no longer need the vpn (so you can/should delete the free VPN if you used one) and can access your youtube premium as long as you're signed in with your Argentinian email address.

The main family member needs to invite the other family members. Those family members also need to generate an Argentinian gmail account and log in to it whilst using youtube.

Im a Youtube premium user and I find it great, I use Youtube music as my streaming service on my phone so it's my main source of audio in my car, I did have spotify for a while but I had technical issues I couldn't resolve.
Youtube is also my main source of tv viewing now I do also have Netflix and Amazon Prime but I don't subscribe to Sky, Virgin etc, don't miss them either.

Which works out at £1.13 a month.

I used a previous deal (and had to use a chinese address) and it costs me £1.33 a month.
I did this today, it worked (follow the guide a bit further down the page that someone there wrote). Now paying £1.55 which is about all I’d be willing to pay to be honest.

Yup its better paying 10% of the price than the full amount, 70% of my viewing time is on Youtube and its a no-brainer.

Slightly off topic but can you skip ads or block YouTube ads on an Android phone?

In a similar way my brother managed to register an F1 TV account by getting friend in Portugal to do it (vpn doesn’t work to set it up I don’t think) and once it’s done it works here. So can watch the F1 races live etc.

Can anybody recommend a good free VPN I can use to 'be' in Argentina? All the free ones appear to list Argentina as a premium location that you need to pay extra to unlock.

So far Google Chrome's VPN brings up Singapore as a free location and that works out at about £6.48 per month.

Great instructions btw, I am attempting to this now but just need to find the VPN.

Did you try Hola! browser extension for Chrome on your desktop? I can’t remember what country I set mine too but I think it was Argentina.

You are a legend! I just used Hola and followed the instructions you linked to and it worked. I got the family plan, free for the first month, and then £1.41 (or 179 ARS) thereafter.
