I tried to watch the Indy vid. I love 70s Maseratis and therefore presumed it should be really interesting.

Dear Lord in hell htf did these 2 manage to make this so utterly utterly boring?!! After 5 mins I stopped paying attention, after 7 it wasn’t even worth having it on in the background. That was absolutely painful. I think that’s 3 Late Braking things I’ve tried to watch over a yr or two and they have got worse each time.

Retired accountants in Surrey called Gerald aren’t even this dull !
Out of curiosity, who do you watch that you find interesting?

By and large I dont. I watch Harry sometimes, but not often. Simon Kidston videos are superb, but few and far between.
And thats about it.

First time I've heard of Simon Kidston. Gave it a quick browse and seems to have a few interesting videos, quite different from the norm.

Harry is great and i enjoy most of his videos.

I enjoyed the episode, but I wouldn't want one. At all. I'd feel a bit of a tit driving it to be honest, and bearing in mind how daft some people may think I look in my Firebird, I don't say that lightly. I'd also tire of repeatedly having to tell anyone who asked that no, it's not a classic Alfa, it's a replica with MX5 underpinnings.

Great video, but the car is a modern equivalent of an MR2 with a F355 body on it.

It just looks a bit wrong…

Yep. Proportions are all wrong, and the (presumably SVA-sanctioned) roll hoop doesn't help. Especially in blue.

I think it looks great. It’s stuff like this that reminds me why i find cars so interesting.

Apparently not needed for IVA, but is needed for racing and is probably a good idea just in case. Apparently you're free to chop it off if you prefer.

Their own video on IVA is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8RqYrOkszA - they seem to lean heavily on the massive gap between what's needed for IVA (lights, covered wheels, etc) and what you can get away with removing or changing at MOT.

I like it but that faux straight-8 exhaust manifold would bother me.

He is very good and very knowledgable…and has owned some tremendous cars.
I believe he had a hand in the sale of that 114million Mercedes!

He's also the nephew of original Bentley Boy and Le Mans winner Glen Kidston. He does indeed have some tremendous cars, including a McLaren F1 and the purple Countach LP400 that was tested by Harry's Garage a while back.

Great fun. Understand the daytime MOT thing, but don't understand how they get away without wheel covers. Similar loophole on road-going dirt bikes?

I'm wondering the same thing. Open wheel cars and kit cars like Caterham, Ariel, KTM have to have the tyres at least partially covered over by law. How can this have completely open tyres?

Quads and tractors get away with it, so I guess there must be some exemptions. More likely though is that they are just fitted for the MoT. There's a few hot rods round here that do the same.

I saw that the late brake show live is partially back on as a part of the retro rides gathering at Mallory Park on the 18th September, the announcement was on instagram over the weekend.

Have a look at the BMW 1602 EV film if you haven’t seen it. Lovely car.
