Have a look at the BMW 1602 EV film if you haven’t seen it. Lovely car.

It is a really nice build however £80k is a lot of money to spend.

I did think that as well but when you see the money people are sinking into average, every day cars (and EVs) I'm not so sure it is, considering the bespoke nature.

80k is a lot but as good as the bmw is it will have needed repair work before anything is modified and has been built to a high standard.

When you consider an electric Traaaaaansit starts at £55k inc VAT it seems pretty reasonable.

That Vintage Voltage place likes to charge for their work. It seems to be £30k for even the most basic EV conversion on their TV show, before any other restoration work is included.

The Swindon classic Mini conversion is over £30k for the full motor and battery kit, and that's a DIY kit to fit yourself. £80k for the BMW restoration and build if that isn't too bad really. The BMW was a nice job all-round, if it was mine, I'd probably have it with a direct drive and not the original gearbox. Other than that, l liked it a lot.

In 2020 we paid them far less than that to convert a 1970 Fiat 500L. It was closer to £20k than 30.

Things may have changed since then.

Electric car conversions. You cant see your petrol car when you are driving it but you can feel it.
Convert it to electric and now it feels like a dodgem car at the funfair. Even the ancient interior looks the same as the bashed up bumper car!
All for 30k +++

Have you watched the BMW vid? The car is gorgeous inside and out. Brought up to date with modern infotainment too.

I agree it is a gorgeous car but I could never justify £80k

To me an electric car plus a useable classic for the same money would make more sense.

A Mercedes EQE is over £76k.

If I lived in London and was paying with my own money, the BMW is far more individual, cool and better looking.

Your petty spite really knows no bounds. Though, at least you spread your anger filled ignorance across several fora.

You know, resentment is equivalent to drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

hehe

Yes but living in London nobody sensible would be buying the Mercedes, you would look at a Mini, I3 or Honda E, this would give you a healthy budget for a nice useable classic for fun / weekends.

I've just seen he's asking £32k for the Jimny.

One for the overpriced thread if ever I saw one.

I know you can polish money into a car but not that much Jonny.

The auction reached £27k, which I thought might be a dreamer but if it was a real buyer it was brave turning them away.

My thoughts exactly. It has a few £ worth of accessories and it has just been professionally detailed, but that does seem a bit steep.
