This has certainly drawn me in now. I've watched 7 episodes.
Kind of got a feel for what is going on. I'm no comic book nerd, though have watched all the marvel movies and a lot of the TV stuff. I am a bit dim when it comes to joining the dots though
There is a lot I would miss if it wasn't for this thread! I don't know who AH is, need to look that up.

Excellent episode. Felt like it was teeing up the third act, so hard to see where exactly it's going though, a lot of pieces still in play.
Loved the Darcy / Vision stuff. Bettany hasn't got much credit in this series but he's really coming into his own now, loved the 'Jim Halpert' look he gives at one point, surely intentional given the nods to The Office in this episode.
Think it was supposed to be based around Modern Family. It was spot on in a lot of aspects. Loved the Darcy / Vision stuff. Vision was great though his ‘this is absurd’ bit when he realises he’s giving an interview
I have a theory.
As soon as we knew the woman thrown out of the Hex was Monica Rambeau I figured we’d see her powers develop. The explanation we have so far is passing through the barrier 3 times has rewritten her DNA. But I think there’s more too it.
If it’s just the Hex then everyone could be on the way to getting superpowers. The next option is it could be triggering powers in people with ‘genetic potential’ (mutants). But I think it’s something unique in her history.
Here’s my theory.
When Carol Danvers was mentioned earlier in the season there was a ‘look’ on Monica’s face. The assumption was she hadn’t seen Carol since the events of the Captain Marvel film. But perhaps Carol did return to Earth and was spending time with the Rambeau household. Not being a superhero, just back to spend time with friends. After a few years Monica’s mother Maria develops cancer, and it turns out long term exposure to Carol caused it because she’s been giving off Infinity Stone based radiation (Space Stone). That’s when Carol disappeared off to space before causing more damage. Monica was growing up with frequent exposure to the effect, and was being changed on some level. So now Monica gets exposure to Wanda’s Mind Stone created powers. The combination is enough to give her powers on a similar level to others with Infinity Stone based powers.
It might seem a bit dark to have a superhero’s powers cause cancer, but in the comics the original Captain Marvel (the Kree Mar-Vel) died from cancer caused by his own powers.
I’m quite pleased with that.

The series is getting stronger and stronger each week. It was definitely a WTF moment after the first episode but things are progressing well. I read somewhere that this series is a sort of precursor to the second Dr Strange film. Does anyone know anything about this?
Nothing beyond the fact that Wanda is in the next Strange movie so people are expecting a link given the multiverse ideas from this. Each Friday I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas. Shouldn’t be this excited over a TV show.
That was the best episode so far. Most of it wasn’t really a surprise, except that Vision isn’t reanimated, but entirely her creation.
The mid-credit version of Vision is what I expected after he was killed in Avengers. He will have all the memories, but not the ‘soul’.

Eight episodes in and still waiting for some sort of plot. Unfortunately it just hasn’t happened. D3spite what people have said (including here) and what they’ve written, this really is just rubbish. Of course the intelligenia will have their theories and dismissals of the non believers, but it’s just plain rubbish.
I’ve wanted to believe, and I’ve tried hard to concentrate, but all I see is emperor’s new clothes. So enjoy everyone, and I hope it reveals what you want it to, but for me it’s just plain rubbish, so I as far as this thread’s concerned I wish you all good luck and I’ll bow out from here and look elsewhere.
