Caputuring the aesthetic and feel of old TV was pretty cool (well, for an episode) but they are going to have to actually start moving on with a plot arc soon or I won't be bothering to continue to watch.
Advance reviews indicated that it kicks up a notch in Episode 3 so let's see if that is true.

I think that's a sticking point for me and the Mrs. The kind of "old sitcom" aesthetic they're going for isn't something we'd normally be into, so when 90% is that and 10% is "ooh, something mysterious is going on, but we won't tell you what", you're still into 90% of it is watching something you're not particularly into.Advance reviews indicated that it kicks up a notch in Episode 3 so let's see if that is true.
Life on Mars was more appealing to me because although it's what seems to be a similar premise, Gene Hunt kicking ass in a Mk3 Cortina/Quattro is much more fun to watch when you're not trying to figure out what's REALLY happening.
I'll keep watching though. Could be good once they've teased a bit more of the background.
I watched this last night (both episodes) and it's clear there's something building - I spotted the red light in the toaster and it seems there's a "reality check" going on. I spotted a few other things too which I really liked:
The Hydra reference for one
I'll stay hooked as long as the story continues to cook - I loved the use of the sitcom reference though. And the "no" and rewinding of the story was interesting too
What I hated, though, was that although it's a "29 minute" episode, there seems to be 6 minutes of credits at the end (or is there something else in there I've missed)

With each episode being based on a TV Series from each decade from the '50s on, I hope they don't do The Cosby Show for the '80s...
I would LOVE this. Vision giving Agnes a 'special' drink and laying her on the couch while Wanda's at the shops...For the 90's they could do Friends or Seinfeld with waaaaay too much laughter track every time they say something.

Yepm that annoyed me too. Self indulgent twaddle at the end of each episode.Liked this more than I thought I would. It'll definitely go somewhere but I'm not for endless unanswered mystery (Lost for example), but I'm sure that won't be the case. As it's kicking off Phase 4 I assume it'll be introducing the 'alternate reality' notion that we'll be seeing in the films over the next few years.

All the MCU series on Disney+ are going to be limited series (6 episodes or thereabouts). I think that came about from the simple fact that they wanted their mainstream MCU actors and getting many of them to commit to more than a movies-worth of filming above and beyond their existing MCU contracts was unlikely.I think the only officially announced MCU tie with Wandavision is Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (March 2022 release), although characters (other than Wanda and Vision) directly pulled from 2 previous MCU films have already appeared.
Win-win as far as I'm concerned, I hate TV series that get dragged out over 24 episodes (and multiple seasons) only to fizzle out or get cancelled. Really only a handful of series out there that have stuck the landing long term.

There was a review of the series in the Guardian and they said the 90s episode would be based on “Malcolm in the Middle”. She’s going to have to start popping some more kids out for that.noopets said:
Decided to watch the first 2 episodes tonight. Quite enjoyed it considering the only marvel stuff I’ve ever watched is Iron Man, so I’ve absolutely no idea what’s going to happen or who’s who. Can tell it’s going to turn dark though
Well, you've only got about another 48 hours of films to get through to catch up!If you're enjoying it, fair enough, but there's going to be a lot if stuff that makes zero sense, and many spoilers for events in the films.

My sixteen year old Marvel crazy daughter opines-
Seen several theories. Seems she is imprisoned, either by herself to cope with her grief, SWORD, or hydra, and that she still has some control over it, as anyone who breaks the happy bubble gets hurt and she rewinds the beekeeper thing. Maybe various organisations are trying to reach her? The voice was the FBI agent from ant man 2.
Apparently main clues are in ‘commercials’; first one was reminiscent of a certain stark industries missile, and the second one is strucker. So maybe they’re the closest thing to her actual memories? It’s unclear how much she remembers pre-sitcom. Lots of theories that agnes is a comic character that worked for a demon
Thank you for coming to my ted talk ??

It’s like the Truman show. And it’ll definitely turn dark soon IMO.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but
the black women who Wanda made appear in the cabinet in episode 2 is the daughter of Captain Marvels friend from the first film
My theory being that she flew into the sphere (being a pilot like her mother but working for SWORD) of new reality wanda is creating, in the helicopter that is now a toy. the black women who Wanda made appear in the cabinet in episode 2 is the daughter of Captain Marvels friend from the first film
The antman FBI agent i assume also works for SWORD now and as does the Bee Keeper, the bee keeper being someone trying to enter the new reality wearing a hazmat suit.
Lots and lots of things going on in this series, its all a bit creepy and the true plot is kind of in the background.
I thought the toaster advert was a bit on the nose, with Tony being toast, and burned down one side when he dies in endgame, looking like burnt toast...
