I thought the unsnap in episode 4 was a flashback.
Yep. Flashback.

Very late to that particular party but just finished a mammoth plough through of the entire Agents of Shield series of, err, series. To me it does what Wandavision’s tried to do but infinitely better. Simple things like a black and white episode changing to colour part way through, the different title pages depending on the circumstances and years, the actors’ credits, the different years, even the nods to other films and non-Marvel films. Plus it managed to keep the storylines ticking along nicely (except maybe for Series Four) without getting too bogged down in trying to be subtle and clever.

My Marvel nerd daughter tells me that Agents of Shield has Canon problems with Disney, and it's not clear whether the show is in or out of the MCU. The conflict with the Winter Soldier story arc is a problem. Multiverses can of course solve this.

Fortunately I’m not nerd enough to notice those sorts of things, however it’s also unfortunate that I’m not nerdy enough to notice those sorts of things!

Most of the discussions on both this and the Mandalorian thread go way over my head!

When Disney bought Marvel and Star Wars I think they said what they say goes now even if it sts all over old ‘canon’.

I think it is Canon up until about season five then with all the timey wimey shenanigans it diverts away. Certainly many events in the MCU are referenced in early AoS seasons, especially season one and two and then the show runners and controllers or Marvel TV and Marvel Cinema fell out and wouldn’t work with each other so any further crossovers were not happening.

Apropos of nothing, I was watching Series 3, Episode 14 and 15 of My Name Is Earl (great series) and they use the fake sitcom as a vehicle for Earl's "safe place" in his coma.

Doubtless used elsewhere but interesting.

OK, it wasn't...
