Funnily enough that's what the contestant said she meant to say smile

Is 'a' not a vowel?
Not when it's followed by a "t ".
Unless there's a parrot lurking nearby, a vowel is a vowel irrespective of what it's followed by.

I profoundly object to that oaf being given so
much as one penny of my licence fee.

This was dire. I recorded first episode and I was 9 minutes in before a question was asked. Couples bickering, canned laughter, Ramsey being Ramsey, unfathomable rules, “What’s the capital of England” level of questions, what’s not to like?

I didn’t get past the first couple on episode one before turning it off. The ‘bants’ between the contestants was tedious and took up too much time, the pace of progression is far too slow and Gordon Ramsay didn’t work well as a presenter. I commend the BBC’s bravery in straying from the usual TV presenter merry go round though.

hate this turd. Flicked past it and im sure he used a swear word. Lets see someone from a minority background get away with that in prime time.
Guess the cookery business is slack and he has a good agent.
TV license is on shakey ground for its next renewal.

Watched the first one. No more for me, although I’m generally in favour of quiz show swearing hehe

Watching it now, only thing I’m hoping for is these two women lose.

I'm giving it a proper try.

I quite like the question format but the balancing stuff is naff.

This contestant's massive eyes are unnerving and his wife is a right harpy.

Just catching this for the first time and my God it's bad but Ramsey's "Falkirk, it's a sthole" made me chuckle. hehe

Luckily you didn't, it was on BBC1!

It was shocking.... Why would Ramsey lower himself to this? I can take him or leave him, but world class chef, come TV star now trying to be a gameshow host, what's next Bargain Hunt? And the contestants, Jeez.... we're looking at the wrong end of the gene pool here...
Having read his book and watched him over the years i'd say he was greedy and only interested in money and control.
I don't know whether to admire or hate him, he's a megalomaniac.

My guess is a combination of a decent sized pay cheque and following in the footsteps of his recent co-star Gino D'campo, who has recently been fronting the rebooted Family Fortunes on ITV.

This show will die a very quick death, it was appalling. Even Ramsey throwing in some expletives didn’t lift it.
I came across it and watched it for all of 30 seconds. I couldn't understand why it was on at 9pm on a week night. I thought it had 4:30 on a Thursday written all over it. Now I know why it's after the watershed.

I've just stumbled upon this. You're all correct it is truly awful but it is properly fascinating just how stupid two people can be; so far they've:
Managed to get 3 characters from Winnie the Pooh - but proclaimed they hadn't heard of any of the others. Who hasn't heard of Tigger?
Answered Ivanka Trump for a former First Lady.
Been unable to name just one book of the Old Testament.
Failed to name two African nations beginning with a vowel. The kicker to that one is that they are both commercial pilots!

I can't tear myself away from this car crash, please send help.

In all seriousness do the producers deliberately vet contestants to make sure only thickos can get on to keep down prize money costs? And why would you want to go on a quiz show if your general knowledge is that bad?

Has anyone won any money on this yet? Every time I’ve managed to watch a few minutes of this they seem to blow it and walk off with nothing.
